Hi Apple Vis Community,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experience using the ChatGPT Official App on Mac with VoiceOver. I’ve been trying to navigate the chat responses within the app, but I’m having trouble moving through the responses or getting VoiceOver to read them properly. It seems like certain elements aren’t as accessible as I’d hoped, and I’m struggling to interact smoothly with the app.
If anyone has tips on how to better navigate responses or knows of any specific VoiceOver gestures or settings that help with accessibility in this app, I’d greatly appreciate it! Any advice on making ChatGPT more usable with VoiceOver would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance for your support!
Regards,
Bill

Doesn't work for me either
It used to be OK - you could navigate to "Collection" then interact, then move up and down and interact further as needed. However, as of a couple of weeks ago I stopped being able to move about the collection and now I can only get to my question, not the answer.
What I ended up doing was going to the ChatGPT web site in Safari, then using Share and sharing to the Dock. This then creates a standalone web app. I setup a shortcut in keyboard commander. And now I just use that.
I actually find it better than the Mac app even when it was working. You can navigate by heading, copy answers, ask it to speak the answers aloud and so on.
I seem to remember when I first tried it there was a series of unlabelled buttons - I think this might have been rating the answer or something. One of the buttons closed that little panel and I've not come across it since.
@Mr Grieves
Thanks very much for your helpful feedback. I will try out the Web App method when using the Chat GPT. It seems that the keyboard commander should boost my productivity. I hope the Mac Official App can be more usable in the future.
Yeah it's been broken since…
Yeah it's been broken since more than a month for me I use the web version, or gpt with 15.2 when suitable.
I use the website
I just use chatgpt.com much easier in my opinion.
