Hi all,
I'm not even sure if my previous phone had live recognition capability, but my new one does, and I'm thinking about changing the gesture used to activate it. In order to decide what gesture to assign though, I'm trying to figure out what all the other gestures actually do, and I have some questions.
1. What does it mean by a tap of the far edges? It looks like VoiceOver's default is to turn on braille screen input when performing a two finger double tap of the far edges, but I spread my fingers as wide as I could on my phone just now and still got the magic tap.
2. What is the two finger single tap command supposed to do? In the commands settings, it says that's supposed to toggle speech, but that is done with a two finger triple tap, which according to the commands is mute. Can someone clarify this?
Thanks,
Bob

i might be able to help
to activate braille screen input, i find it works best if you hold your phone landscape and tap 2 braille c's while curling your fingerp s around the edges of the screen.
the two finger single tap temporarily pauses the speech and tapping again will resume it, as opposed to the 3 finger double tap to turn the speech off entirely until it's turned on again.
I hope that makes sense!!

The wording for edges of screen of can be improved
To be clear, I specifically mean the term being used, "far edges".
I too was completely confused at first about this. The good fokes of AppleVis helped me at that time.
When they say, "Far edges", they want you to think about the edges of the screen, compair the distance between them. If holding normally in portrate view, left and right edges are not that far apart from each other, whereas the top and bottom edges are indeed more far apart from each other. So, to do that gesture, 1 of your fingers is to tap on the extream top edge of the screen, and the other finger on the extream bottom edge. In other words, 1 near status-bar, and the other where you activate home/recents gesture. Almost impossible to do with one-hand unless you do some thumb and middle finger gymnastics. I Mostly do it using 2 hands.
Thanks, wording does need to be improved
Thanks for those tips. The wording on both of those gestures definitely needs to be improved. I really should play with braille screen input more, so now that I know the quick command to turn that on that will be interesting. I'm also still playing with the action button settings.
