Other Comments

This event invitation is straightforward and perfect for any special occasion with your family, co-workers, partners, and more. Start by selecting the ideal background from your photo library, or choose one of Apple's stocked backgrounds. Name your event and specify the date, time, and location.

You have the option to share an album with your invitees, allowing everyone to share photos from the event. Additionally, you can create a music playlist that guests can contribute to, ensuring everyone's favorite tunes play at the event. Once everything is set, preview the invitation before sending it to your invitees.

When your guests receive the invitation, they can RSVP with a “Yes,” “No,” or “Maybe,” and you’ll get notifications on who’s attending.

Keep in mind, sending invitations is available only to iCloud+ subscribers. While the cost is nominal, it might be a deal-breaker for some. Also, sharing the playlist requires an Apple Music subscription, so all invitees must have it to enjoy this feature. Given that my friends and family use a mix of devices, I’m not sure how many of them will be able to participate in these Apple-specific features. On paper, it looks good, but its practicality is yet to be determined.

Oh apple please! Scam me at least by making me believe you still care about macos. You have coded catalist and encourage 3rd party dev to do that but yourself don't? I am still waiting to have journal, and now this app on the mac where it makes perfect sense.
I ain't even trying it, no thank you.

Ok so it has options for both Location and Directions. But when I select the Directions button, it just opens the same screen as the Location. So both of them just display the address. Is there any way to actually add directions, or for example tell people what the transport options are?

I don't have this app yet, but it sounds promising. My phone just prompted me that iOS 18.3.1 was successfully installed, so perhaps the new app is included but I don't know. In any case, the app sounds good. A neighbor recently hosted a poetry reading and used Evite. I had trouble with it, and I think Event Bright is the same way. Fortunately I was able to just respond to him face-to-face, and the event went on without a hitch. As a matter of fact I ended up really enjoying it. But I might want to use this app at some point.

It's on the appstore, at least I had to download it myself and never use it again (personally).

I wonder why this accessibility statement that the app could be easier to use? Like, okay we don't have tabs now but it's a trend apparently derived from visionOS that Apple seems willing to expend, but aside that I really don't know?

before everybody gets enthusiastic about this app, I'd like to inform you that, 'Apple Invites,' requires an iCloud plus subscription. anybody can received invations, but to create them, you need to purchase an monthy subscriptin. so if people can't afford it, there are a plethera of apps and services which do the same thing. Apple found a way to make money, yet, another way, and enter a new market, and not everybody would be willing to spend money, just to send invations, when you can do it onine for free. email is the tried and tested accessible method for this, and I'd use it ovewr this app any day. a new UI, for something email can do perfectly fine.
