Has anyone used Microsoft teams? Of course they are using a platform I haven't tried yet. I've downloaded it and am hoping i don't have to say appologetically, "I'm sorry, technology is being fun today." Also has anyone called into a conference number and used an Id? Do I just hope it works with the keypad and voice over? Thanks for any help.

Messages not sending
One thing to keep an eye on when using Safari is that sometimes it seems that sending messages breaks. I've had a few occasions where I have thought I had sent a message, and was getting annoyed about the lack of reply, but when I checked my message wasn't there. When I try sending another one it says "Sending" but does not follow it up with "Sent". If I refresh then it fixes itself. I've had this happen a few times.
Not sure if the same thing happens in Chrome.
How on earth do you answer a call with VoiceOver on mac
hey all,
have been using teams for a week now and I still cannot figure out how to actually answer an incoming call using VoiceOver.
The notification window comes up, I make my way to it, I attempt to hit the answer with audio button but VoiceOver seems to think that the dismiss call button is default so it will constantly hang up.
I cannot use the enter key to answer or space, VO space just hits the default button which dismisses the call.
I have also tried the commands from the instructions about answering calls with no result.
Any ideas?
Answering a call
As far as I can tell, you have to use the keyboard shortcuts. I can't find any way of giving the answer buttons focus on their own. I hate this because I sometimes forget what they are, or fumble and press the wrong thing. The other day I couldn't remember the shortcut and miraculously got on the call. Only later did someone tell me I'd been on video whereas everyone else was on audio and I hadn't realised.
Have a look at the keyboard shortcuts - https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/keyboard-shortcuts-for-microsoft-teams-2e8e2a70-e8d8-4a19-949b-4c36dd5292d2#picktab=macos
They are different for web and the app.
On the web, you press Cmd+Shift+A for video call, Cmd+Shift+S for audio only.
On the app they are Cmd+Shift+V for video and Cmd+Shift+A for audio.
I hate that the shortcut for answering with audio on the app is the same as answer with video on the web.
Teams and DuckDuckGo or Firefox?
Does anybody use Teams with DuckDuckGo on an iPhone or Firefox on Windows? Just curious.
Answering call shortcut key doesn't work mr grieves
Thanks so much for your advice mr grieves.
The shortcut to actually answer the call does not work when it is ringing.
It doesn't even matter if you make your way to that window where the answer options are, the shortcut just never works.
It's kind of a big deal because you can't even answer a damn call.
Re: answering a call
I have certainly had that moment of total panic when it is just ringing and ringing and I can't figure out how to answer it.
I started out using the full app but it has some showstoppers for me so I created a Safari app (ie share to dock) using the web site. I find this works a bit better even if it is still a long way from frustration free.
In the web version I don't have a problem answering calls as long as I remember which key to press!
In the main app I've had all sorts of issues to do with focus - either the app grabbing focus from other apps, or vice versa. I also had some issues with hanging up calls - if I had gone to the conversations list when on a call, or if I used my VO keyboard shortcut to jump to the teams app, then I'd not be able to use it - I'd have to go into the Window menu and select the other window if I remember right.
If you are using the main app I would try the web one and see if you get on better with it. It might also work better in Chrome but I personally just like having the app separated from everything else given how much I use it.
Speaking of answering calls
Does Mac OS have anything similar to magic-tap?
That might work to answer call, although video/audio, that not sure.
Re: Magic Tap
If you have trackpad commands enabled, then you can do the normal two finger double tap on the trackpad. It doesn't look like there is another way to do this, but you can assign commands to it through VO Utility (at least on Sequoia).
I've no idea if this helps here, but it is a good suggestion and might be worth a try.
I just tab to find the…
I just tab to find the buttons or find call with vo-f. Never used the shortcuts even on windows.
Thanks Mr grieves, I might have a look at the web one.
I probably will have a look at the web app at some stage.
It is really annoying me.
Too bad we can't just tell…
Too bad we can't just tell Siri, on macOS, to answer that, when a Microsoft Teams call comes in.
