Hi everyone, hope you're doing well and staying safe :-) I'm running macOS sequoia though this problem has persisted over several Mac operating system versions. When my Mac is locked and the display is dimmed. VoiceOver was still say something like "application authentication secure edit text dimmed" is there any way to stop this from happening please? Thank you very much for your help everyone :-)

This problem actually got worse in Sequoia., and is well known by pretty much everyone except the occupants of a certain Cupertino flying saucer building, which I attribute to that ship's reality distortion field. Workarounds include pressing the TouchID button to lock the Mac yourself, and plugging in wired headphones except the AirPods Max even if you intend to use Bluetooth audio.

Yep, often reported bug, consistently unresolved.

Who knew, reporting bugs doesn't get things fixed.

I think it happens because of screen saver. I've turned mine off, which isn't ideal, but I tend to shut my macbook when not using anyway. It's not ideal, but what is on mac.

Expecting apple to fix this is pretty unreasonable though. I'm saddened by how much this community points out reported bugs that aren't fixed. The solution is, of course, stop talking about them.
