Hello! I haven't using seeing ai for quite a while, especially the world channel, but i guess a long time ago it has updated and redesigned. Could you help me please how to access the world channel and route navigation? I have iPhone 14, so i can't utilize lidar, but i was able to navigate indoor routes before. Thanks in advance!

Yes, the interface of Seeing AI was rewamped with version 5.5. The earlier channel "flicker" control (flick up / down to select channels) was replaced with a multitab layout. Nevertheless all previous channels are there, most of them under the "Miscellaneous" tab, except the world channel. All references to it seem to have been removed. I looked into menus and settings also, but no mention of it there any more. In the main Setttings app of my phone under the Seeing AI entry, the permissions needed for the world channel (mobility and fitness) are still there, but the world channel seems to have been removed by app developers. Maybe they thought that it didn't really fit the profile of the app, or very few people actually used that feature. I have never used it myself for a single second, and haven't had the faintest idea how that had worked.

Is it possible that microsoft released some new app, or is there an app that is able to use indoor navigation using camera? I have really wanted to show it in our blind community!

I haven't used an app for indoor navigation before. What exactly would it provide that good cane skills and my ears and brain cannot? I guess things like reading signage?

Now there are some tabs at the top of the page. Double tap on the more tab and swipe right until you hear World.

That's interesting. For me the tabs are at the bottom of the screen and at the bottom right there is "More" or "Miscellaneous" (I don't know exactly as I use the app in my native tongue, Hungarian, and both translations are okay). If I double tap that a channel list appears with these exact channels in this order (the order is configurable, but I haven't changed it): product, person, currency, find my things, colour, light. There is no worl channel there. The last time I saw the world channel ("vilΓ‘g" in Hungarian) was when the app still had the "channel flicker" type selector control, before the three-tab layout was introduced. It used to be the last channel in the selector. If I go into the Settings menu within the app, there is an option to reorder channels. All the six I mentioned are there and can be reordered, but the world channel is not mentioned there either.
It may have happened that the world channel became limited to those devices with a Lidar scanner, which I don't happen to have.

So I’m on a 15 Pro, which as you say has LiDAR, and the World channel is there for me in the More tab.
However I can not find the indoor navigation feature in there anymore, only object and people detection stuff. The user interface isn’t very good though.

Seeing AI support replied me:

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out.

Due to the current unavailability of a key technology we depend on, the Indoor Navigation feature has been removed. We are actively exploring alternative solutions and will consider reintroducing the feature in future updates.
