Braille Displays And Apple

Braille on Apple Products

I may have put this in the wrong forum, but, I'll hope I didn't.
I had a question about Apple devices and braille display connectivity. I've been using a BrailleNote Touch Plus for about 10 years now. Well, BrailleNote Touch into Plus into other Plus when original one broke. But between all 3 devices there has been a persistent issue: When the BrailleNote Touch Plus is connected to my phone, I cannot pair anything new. I can get other things to connect, but they have to be paired already. Example: I couldn't pair my AirPods to my phone when the BrailleNote was connected, though I could when I disconnected it, and they now can connect when the BrailleNote is connected because they're already paired. Okay, that was a lot, but I hope that makes sense.
Now my question is, is this just a BrailleNote Touch thing? I'll be getting a Mantis Q40 hopefully soon, and that, I think, is more designed for device connectivity than the BrailleNote was. So I assume a lot of these problems will go away, because it's probably designed to let other things work in tandem with it. Can owners of one or the other comment here and tell me your experiences? I'm just trying to prepare here and work on workarounds if need be in my brain while I wait.
Thanks so much everybody!

When multiple host devices are on at the same time and something goes into pairing mode, the hosts may fight for it and just overall confuse everything. Always disable/turn off as much other Bluetooth that is around when you are pairing something to avoid conflicts like you describe. Once paired you're good to go.

I crossposted this, and was told that some devices are better at switching than the BNT is. Also, Travis, thank you for that, I didn't know that was just how bluetooth worked. I'm a bit inept in certain areas.
