Applevis keeps logging me out

Hello members and development team.
I have noticed that after a few days of inactivity from my Applevis account my devices will log out.
Forcing me to reenter my username and password to login to comment or post.
This is slightly inconvenient and I would suggest this feature be removed or only prompting a session expire after 2 months or longer
Thank you for reading my post.

This has prevented me from commenting, and such for years.

uite disturbing if ye ask me.

And while on it, Why not add PassKey-support, or/and Google/Apple sign in?

Thank you all for the feedback. Below are some answers:

  • Our current system logs the user out after approx. 55 hours of inactivity. Based on your feedback, we are going to investigate options to remember the user session for a longer period of time and hope to implement a solution in the future.
  • Unfortunately, implementing support for Passkeys or Sign In with Apple/Google is likely not anything we will be able to offer in the foreseeable future, due to the complexity involved.

Thanks,

Michael

I just figured it would log you out for security reasons. It makes sense because if it kept you permanently logged in then if somebody got your phone and got into Apple, for some reason, they would have access to going on there as if it was you or something so I can kind of see why it has to do that. I’m sure that the Apple VIS team will come up with something right now. They always find a way to make accessing this website easier for us.

With authenticator apps, it's a must have feature and is the minimum security standard I want to have on most sites.
I do completely get the complexity of a big cms updates breaking things and stuff like that so no pressure! :)
But yeah, sso, 2fa and passkey are mostly in the same category, so yeah. Best wishes and take your time!
