Bluetooth speaker question

Hi all!
I just got a SoundCore 3 bluetooth speaker from Anker. When I connect the speaker voiceover comes out of the phone and is very loud. When I turn it all the way down with the rotar it is still almost so loud it is hard to listen to. When I play something through the speaker it does fine--bard books. I wonder if this is the way it is supposed to work and is there a way to equalize the voiceover so it isn't so loud?
Just wonder if anybody has e xperience with this. I'll also add that I have an se2020 phone so maybe the technology is so old that is the problem.
Thanks for any info.
Jim

Did you use the down button for bring down the volume? Tried that.

I just can't get the volume of voiceover on the phone to go low enough. As soon as the speaker finishes pairing it just raises the volume to very loud. The volume on the bluetooth speakekr is fine.

As I understand things, this is a bug that has been around for a while. Where, when pairing Bluetooth (earbud, speaker, whatever), the voiceover volume is extremely loud, and hard to lower. Unfortunately, you may just have to wait for an iOS update to fix this. In the meantime, just stick with the VoiceOver volume rotor to adjust volume as needed for VoiceOver when connecting Bluetooth.

Hi. I think that was a bug some time ago, but I believe it’s been fixed since then. I use Bluetooth speakers with my iPhone almost every day, and everything’s fine with VoiceOver. The VoiceOver sound comes from the phone, but at a normal volume. Try this: go to Settings and find your Bluetooth device. On top of the device name, use the rotor actions and swipe down until you find the “More info” option, I think that’s what it’s called. There you’ll be able to choose the device type, select “Speaker.” If “Speaker” is already selected, choose another option and then switch back to “Speaker.” It might help, it worked for me a few years ago.

On my devices the bug has been fixed with iOS26. You should try updating your phone, if you are still on an earlier version.
Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Daniel

The behavior which you're describing was a known bug, which was for a long time around. But as the previous poster mentioned, it is currently fixed with the release of IOS 26.
Voiceover is now speaking in a normal way again, while speaker content is adjustable playing in the background.. Wishing the good old audio routing rotor gestuere back, where you could route Voiceover back between your phone and the speaker. Maybe it's coming back very soon.

I have an se2020 and am a bit reluctant to install 26. Might give it a try though.
Thanks,

The RC will be release for iOS 26.1. or iOS 26.02 might come out this week. The RC is the same as the public version just one week earlier. More stable.
