PUshing apps to the app store with XCode

Hi all. I'm finally getting really stuck into SwiftUI and have built a couple of apps, a super accurate spirit level and a guided, accessible camera. I'm still in the testing stages and have been successfully testing on my local device, but soon I will be renewing my Apple Developer subscription so I can push some apps to the app store. The whole app store build and uploading process seems quite complicated, compounded by XCode generally being pretty bloated and unintuitive. Can any of you fellow developers share any guides you've found useful, or tips and tricks you've picked up along the way?

I'm still getting my head around XCode. The last time i used it was back in the Snoe Leopard and Lion days when it was just starting to become accessible to us. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now, but I'd better get used to it since it's the only way to build apps for iOs. Any advice from you folks out there who have been through all this already would be greatfully received.

Hi there,

App development with Xcode has become far easier now compared to when you started to code. I've been building apps since 2011 and they really have improved how easy it is to build apps. I've been teaching a class on Apple App development for the past 6 weeks, and the course will be going tor another 20 or so weeks. You can join the class at https://classroom.google.com/c/Nzg3MTAwMjAwMjIy?cjc=6nhstavd Also, feel free to contact me if you have specific questions related to app development. Building apps for iOS and mac is a passion of mine so feel free to reach out.

Thank you! I really appreciate that. I'll definitely check out your class. I'm not too bad at Swift, though I've spent the last 20 years programming in various languages such as C for embedded devices, a bit of python, visual basic (back in the day) and plenty of Java / Javascript, PHP etc. I think the bit I'm mostly struggling with is getting my head around Apple's development platform, all the terminology specific to APple, and XCode itself. I'm sure I'll have some questions when I'm ready to start pushing an app to the store soon, so I'll get in touch!
