Very excited about the display glasses and the ristband. Especially considering that a lot of my use is work-related and talking out loud to my glasses in a meeting would make me look like a fool. Excited for a not-far-off future where I can snap my rist and hear a seen description... Or maybe the ristband can provide tactile feedback helping me navigate indoor spaces...?

Who is we? None of the people on this website speak with one voice. Mostly, The people on here canât even agree if a bug exist. Of course theyâre all stealing our data. Thatâs the least they are doing. These are evil corporations. It is important not to fall for their rhetoric. If weâre going to use any of these devices, we have to be careful. And we have to be mindful. Because their goal is to trick us and to make as much money as possible. And that only happens one way. By taking as much of our money as possible. they are the bad players that make our lives worse. They are some of the bad players who caused groceries to go up. They are the ones who fund military spending that is used against children. They are the ones who lied to you at every turn. These are the same exact people who block legislation to prevent websites from becoming fully accessible. They are the ones who shrugged at you when you donât get worthwhile employment. This is not conspiracy. This is not hyperbole. It is the reality that we live in. If they were about unlocking human potential, they wouldnât be helping to fund any of the horrible things that are happening around the world right now. If they were about unlocking human potential, we would all be using those robot dogs. the ones that are being built for military purposes, instead of for the blind. The ones that can do backflips , and run around, and have machine guns and flamethrowers. All these companies fund Boston dynamics and similar companies. And the technology they have could improve the world in a matter of weeks. And while you are begging them to make smart glasses that barely work, theyâre making technology that gets to be used by the military industrial complex.
And nothing I said is going to sink in. Youâre just gonna push back. Because you are so starved for any scraps that you wonât even begin to fight for something more.

Calling data collection âtheftâ is simply wrong. Consent is explicit. Terms are published. You agree to them every time you click âI accept.â Choosing not to read what you agreed to does not transform consent into exploitation.
Rising grocery prices, war spending, and stalled legislation are policy outcomes, not features of AI or data collection. Blaming tech companies for inflation and geopolitics is an emotional argument not an analytical one. If data collection caused those things, the causal link would be trivial to demonstrate. It isnât.
Yes, corporations pursue profit. Thatâs not a revelation. But profit motive alone does not equal deception, nor does it erase the role of governments, regulators, and voters in shaping outcomes. Oversimplifying complex systems doesnât make the critique sharper,it makes it weaker.
If you want to argue for stronger regulation, transparency, or limits on corporate power, thatâs a legitimate position but framing everything as âevil corporations stealing data and ruining the worldâ isnât insight, itâs rhetoric.
