Strange issue with my mac book, my braille display and microsoft word

Hi.

I have a very strange issue with my MacBook and my brailliant BI 20 braille display.
I am writing in my document in word when my braille display just freezes i.e. I can't write on the display any more however I can still write using the keyboard on the mac. Its strange. Even if I write a lot more on the mac, my display will still be stuck at its original place and I can't read what ese I've written on the mac. However I can delete text from where the braille display was stuck at.
Hope this makes sense.
Has anyone else had this issue and how did they resolve it?

Writing with Microsoft Word on the Mac is not ideal anyways. Does this happen with other text editors like TextEdit and Pages.

I've not tried using pages or text edit. But, the really strange thing is that this issue i'm having only happened in a specific document. i went to another document in word and my display works fine.
