Hi everyone. I have the latest iOS update on an iPhone 14 and my Journal app keeps crashing every time I try to type in it? Has anyone else had that problem and found a fix?
I wasn't using Journal because I thought the interface was clunky when I tried it in the past. So I am trying it now with iOS 26; just to see if there were improvements. but it is still clunky and It did crash the second time I added an entry. There were some suggestions and when I clicked the clothes button or whatever it was called. I don't remember now. The app was still open, but I could not find any text on the screen exploring with my finger and could not flick back-and-forth between elements voiceover didn't see any. And the rotor didn't help. I tried to turn on voice recognition screen recognition, but it didn't turn on and I think that the whole thing just crashed then.
Sadly, my default advice stands, don't use Apple apps when you can help it. They simply don't care about accessibility. I'd suggest looking for a 3RD party application.
Apple's track record of fixing and developing in house apps is very poor.
To anyone seeking a good accessible journal app, I highly recommend day one.
Day One has many features that the IOS journal app doesn't have, such as tagging of entries and great export and import options.
I've pasted a link to the AppStore below for convenience sake: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1044867788
