Join AppleVis for coverage of Apple's WWDC26 Keynote and announcements

I’m not sure what I want to see yet. All the features that I’ve already been announced this coming later this year are things that I won’t be able to take advantage of as none of my devices are Apple Intelligence capable. There’s features that I’ve been wanting in the new iOS for a long time, but they are specific way over. The biggest thing I want to see is a name repeat caller ID for ringers on a phone call. Like a couple of invoices. And as far as for overall, I was maybe a couple more ringtones that actually sound like phones than just the old phone one. I know it’s not necessarily the most interesting thing but that’s what I’m hoping will happen at some point. I’m looking forward to hearing more details about your virtually event in September though that sounds like fun.

I want the things that have been rumoured. The new Siri surely has to make an appearance. It would be hugely embarrassing if it was a no-show. After the initial Apple Intelligence announcement I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one a little cynical here, but it's time Apple started to deliver what Google are already steaming ahead with.

And similarly, time to announce those Apple Smart glasses. Obviously I think new Siri is a pre-requisite for this. Again I'm trying to remain somewhat reserved in my excitement about this as Apple are so far behind in this space, but I will still probably lose it if it is revealed.

I think a new Apple TV is likely to follow the announcement of new Siri. Again it will surely have some kind of Apple Intelligence built in but it will probably need a good voice assistant for anyone to care about it. Maybe not here, but surely not too far away. I doubt I'd upgrade for this, so this is more a prediction than what I personally want.

I'd like shortcuts to get an overhaul. I'd settle for a new app that was actually usable, but even better would be a way to use natural language to set things up. Admittedly I only want this because some shortcuts I have already used are becoming deprecated and I really can't be bothered to fight with the app again to fix them.

Hopefully other than Siri and some more AI stuff, I just want the new OS versions to concentrate on smoothing over the features that are there without adding a ton of new ones I'll never use. Well, you can always hope.

Do we have to watch on Apple's website to have videodescription or it will be in the tv app as well?

I believe audio description should be available in the TV app and on Apple TV devices as well, though I cannot speak personally to this. Someone please definitely correct me if I'm wrong.

This is the first time I'm ever going to watch the livestream and I'm looking forward to it.

As much as I would like to see the accessibility features that Apple has mentioned, what we really want to see is bug fixes for VO users. that's all I as well as the rest of the community ask. We'll see how the first beta goes once it gets released tomorrow. Enough said. LLC.

Audio description is usually available in Apple's Keynotes on the Apple TV app. I've also seen Apple putting audio descriptions in their videos on YouTube. It is in the audio track menu on YouTube. However, that menu, for some reason, is not accessible for voiceover users. The best way to watch it with audio description is to go to the Apple TV app. The WWDC keynote should be the very first thing you see tomorrow.

The guy at the virge once said that if apple or any other company can make it good enough so automation and stuff like that can be done with natural language, then this would probably be the first real win for LLM usefulness as a technology. And I agree with this too.

I love Applevis coverage of these things, often they bring out things which we weren't able to catch in the event itself, I assume they have some very good connections to get all the nitty-gritties.
A live Applevis event also sounds fun. All these big tech websites run live commentory, either in Audio/video form, or, a live text blog which updates as announcements are being made. Accessibility is rarely a focus there though.
As Apple already provides Audio descriptions, I think we are covered on that front.

I think they could also just make the app simpler so people could use it, but I'll take whatever gets me to the answer with the least amount of effort.

It is my understanding that the TV app should offer audio description as well. I don't use it so can't be absolutely sure, but this is my understanding and best guess.

If audio descriptive is active, it should work, it work on other apple product. Not sure about the watch. LLC.

I would use the website for the easiest experience. Audio Description is available on their YouTube channel (see comments above), but you have to turn it on in Audio Track Settings.

We did indeed used to live tweet Apple keynotes in the past--I myself did this for several Apple events over the years. This is not something we have done since Twitter's takeover in 2023, but we can definitely consider a reimagined live experience if this is something people would like to see. 😊

It'll probably be available as an audio track under Settings once the full video goes up stand-alone.

PS. Yes, I looked extensively. No audio track option among YouTube's settings was available during said live stream.
