Greetings friends. A colleague of mine sent this to me today. I wanted to pass it along and see if anyone else has any information on it. From what I can glean, the project, Mobilio, is still in the early stages, but it might be something interesting to keep the proverbial eye on. It's another navigation app that claims to have the potential to be as good as a sighted guide. I know all these companies make such claims, but I still think this one sounds promising. That sound kind of made me think of someone hammering metal at a smithy or something like that. I didn't want to say anything earlier because I didn't want to prejudice anyone against the sound, but it is awful. It drills through your skull.

As if we already don't have any more navigation apps that half ass work in the first place. Please tell me why I should give two shits over the millions of other navigation apps that I already have on my phone that may or may not work half the time. Now I feel like this is over saturating the market now and don't mean anything at all what so ever. I mean look... We already got tons of apps that describe things, tons of navigation apps, what's next! Tons of color identification apps? Oh wait, we have a shit ton of them apps too. Now while I get it, different tools for different people and multiple tools at that but there comes a point to where Things like this just stop being tools and more like over doing it.

Several games will appear. There's not just one.
Now, type
GPS
Several results will appear, with different GPS apps, navigation apps, pedestrian apps, map apps...
You might be like, "Tunmi, what on Earth are you on about?"
It's simple. There's not always going to be one navigation app, one image describer app, one map exploration app, one clock app... the list goes on.
So, when one of these new apps comes out, don't shoot at it with a bow and arrow. You won't be hitting a bullseye.
Try it. You never know, perhaps you prefer it over Blind Square. Perhaps you prefer it over Voice Vista. Perhaps you prefer it over Lazarillo.
The next time you see an app in any of these categories, try it. If you can't, watch demonstrations, or ask friends about it.
Soundscape
This sound, to me, is exactly the same as the sound that Soundscape, Voice Vista, etc, use for beacons. Even the turn direction tone is the same as one of those used in the aforementioned apps. I don't see what's so terrible about it?
I can imagine it hurting at higher volumes, but the entire point of why it is at such a high frequency, if I'm not mistaken, is so that it's easier to hear above the sounds of outdoor traffic.
