I have my Apple Watch 12 set set to listen to "Siri or Hey Siri".
I also turned off "Raise to Wake" since Voiceover unexpectedly perks up and speaks whenever I inadvertently raise my hand in a certain way, and I find this disturbing.
question: "Hey Siri" doesn't seem to work unless the watch is first woken up by either pressing the crown or touching the display. I expected that the watch, like the phone, would respond to "Hey Siri" when asleep just like the phone does. Is that not the case? I don't want to wake up the phone just to give a Siri voice command because I don't want to hear Voiceover. I just want to give a voice command.
Is there a way to have Siri respond when the watch is asleep just as the pohne will?
Thanks.

This may not help...
hi, This won't answer your question, but I can tell you that from my own experiences, and the things that you mention above that bug you. That I resolved to long pressing the dial button to invoke Siri and well, it makes me feel a little bit like dick tracy, but everything else annoyed me.
It may also actually mostly have cinema mode on, because it stopped accidental VoiceOver speech during my day. Actually the one thing that I truly still have an issue with, is getting the Apple Watch to be loud enough in public, but silent enough when it's quiet. Apple have done a lot to try improve that, and maybe I just have not figured out the right combinations of settings.
But, maybe you want to leave raise to speak on, and just use cinema mode during the times when you don't want to be disturbed.
The apples team are very savvy with podcasts about iPhone and Mac and iPad, if someone does have an overview of the Apple Watch and good ways to configure it, I would be interested in that.
