Greetings, all! Many of you participate in conferences or events that use mobile apps, so I’m hoping there will be users who might be able to help me with my request.
Area mobile accessibility is rightfully gathering a lot of attention. But so far there are no legal standard defining what is an accessible website or mobile app. That’s why it is so difficult to get an answer from any software companies ‘Is your APP accessible?’
My Association, AUCD (Association of University Centers on Disabilities), used a conference app for the past two years to allow conference attendees access the event program, attendee list, maps, and much more from their devices. We’ve had great feedback from most attendees about the functionality, but the feedback wasn’t as positive from users with visual differences or who are blind. As I work to find a right vendor match for our 2014 conference app, I would love to hear about your experience with mobile conference/meeting/event apps and also apps recommendations, which I can evaluate for our upcoming conference.

I might be willing to do some testing.
I can not promise much time since I am a student and am also working full time, but I can look at your services if that will help. if you find people who have more time to devote to you I would go with them instead of me, however, if you need me I can see what I can do.

1. For testing you would need to download Guidebook app. You can install Guidebook app on iPad and/or iPhone (or smart phone). The download instructions can be found on this page:

Install Guidebook app. Search for 2013 AUCD Conference. (Guidebook call their apps - guides.)
2. Try to navigate the 2013 AUCD conference sections. There are 17 sections in all, but the most important are: About AUCD, Schedule, Speakers, Posters, Awards and Attendees.
3. Try to create My Schedule.
Please keep in mind that those are last year data and links to the Posters or some materials may not work.
If something will not work, it will be good to have a detail description of the problem. This is my first project where I am trying to improve accessibility and I am trying to learn as much as possible about it. If some my instructions sounds a bit off, this is because I am still learning the subject. Please feel free to correct me or suggest better test criteria.
