Hi, guys!! :)
So, the purchase of my first Mac is drawing nearer and nearer, and as always, I have a few questions. :)
I plan to run Windows on it for a few specific programs (and to keep my knowledge of Windows up-to-date.) I was thinking of getting a MacBook Pro with the I5 processor (can't remember the exact GHZ), 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Does anyone who has an Air notice any lag in Windows performance versus the Pro?
Also, I'm trying to figure out if I want to use Bootcamp or VM fusion. I've heard that virtualizing Windows saves people from headaches if the OS needs to be re-installed, and I do like the fact that I don't have to transfer files between the operating systems--which is great for someone who is trying to transition between the two.
I suppose my question is, which is truly recommended? Will my planned configurations for a MacBook be enough for JAWS and VM Fusion?

I have done both over the
I have done both over the years. if you plan on using a serial connector for anything ( a radio for example) then fussion or any vertualized environment will not work as you have to fidel with com stuff. If not then vmware will work fine. I am using 7.
I woudl personally go with the I7 processer as it boosts up to 3.7ghz and you might need that in time. Future proof your mac if possible with 8 gigs ram, and the i7 processer.
Thanks! :)
Thanks so much for the comment. I don't think I'll be doing something like that. I do, however, want to learn how to make my own podcasts once I have a Mac. Not meaning to stray off-topic, but what will I need to purchase to, say, record what sound is coming through my headphones? I've listened to a lot of your podcasts, Marrie (I am, in fact, listening to one now), and I'd like to be able to do what you do for game demos etc. :)
Should I just invest in the Pro, then, like I had initially planned?
I'll contact you off of this
I'll contact you off of this forum board, but I'm actually using an air, and a mixer to do all of that, or most of it, I think. Lol! I do how ever want to one day envest in the new 16 gig of ram pros though. That will be my next computer. I'll also contact you with some other links and services you might be inerested in for osx.
Blessings.
