There are lots of apps for the iPhone which will either speak the time or make a sound on the quarter, half or full hour, but I’ve not been able to find one which will do this on the Watch. Does anybody know if one exists yet?
This app hasn't been designed for the Apple Watch, but, if you download it and then sync it to your watch, perhaps it may serve you? Despite the fact that it hasn't been updated since I downloaded it three years ago, I haven't seen the need for any updating, because it simply does what I wanted it to do. It's free and hopefully it will work for you via the watch interface.
Even though the app isn't specifically designed for the watch, I think it just may work for you. When used on the iPhone, it will alert you on the quarter, half, and/or hour marks. I would encourage you to at least give it a shot. Then you will know if it works and whether you may need to continue your search.
Sorry, but the Watch doesn’t work this way. You can’t run all iOS apps on it, they need to have specific support for the Watch. Which, essentially comes in the form of a companion app which generally provides a limited subset of features and functionality from the parent app. Or, in some other cases, it might offer features intended to enhance the use of the parent app, such as operating as a remote control.
I was under the impression that, despite the app not having a companion app for the watch, it just might work because the iPhone was synchronized to the watch. I appreciate the clarification. I certainly hope you find an app that will meet this need.
Apple has updated their watch app store guidelines to directly forbid apps that do only timekeeping. as such, I'm not sure that an app like chime would be let through. Hopefully in coming months, Apple will either relax their restrictions or come up with their own solution for this.
is exactly what you're looking for
the app's set up is little bit annoying you have on/off toggle button and a list of all the hours you have to mark every hour you want the watch to ring by double click on it
Do I have gto check those every day or is it enough to check them once? This app seems great, when I have gotten the hang of setup. Thanks for your advice.

Have you Tried Chime by Blacktree?

Thanks, but ...
Thanks for the suggestion, but an app would need to specifically support the Apple Watch to do what I want.
Still Worth A Try

Not sure this can be done
