Hi all, this is about to drive me crazy. I have a boxwave bluetooth keyboard connected to my phone. Every now and then it will double my letters. For example if I type the letter B, it will type it twice then I have to go back and delete it. It seems to be getting worse. It didn't used to do that this much. What the heck is going on? I am about to kill it lol. Is it a bug? I want to squash it. Ok time for sleep haha. Thanks.

How long have you had the keyboard? I have a boxwave also and I find that after six months or so, it will start to double up on letters and miss letters. I'm on my third case now and I think it's time I look for something else because this issue is more the defective design of the product.

Apparently the doubling of characters is an issue reported by some users of BT keyboards since iOS 8. According to other threads on this site, power-cycling your device may remedy the problem temporarily.

Dropped characters might be a sign of low batteries in the keyboard.

I'd be very interested in any updated information about this doubling character problem. Does it still exist in iOS 9?

Thanks to someone on this group, after almost a year of going through this problem and rebooting and so forth when that bug came up, the most obvious answer was given, although, it is not going to kill the bug permanently, but, it's much easier than rebooting the phone. You'll want to just turn VoiceOver off then on again, since it appears to be a bug within VoiceOver. Go figure.
HTH.
