hi, I recently upgraded from a 32-bit computer to 64. my iPhone connected fine with that computer. I have a 64-bit computer Windows 7 and I tried to connect my iPhone using different cables and USB ports but I get this error message: USB not recognized USP you are using has malfunctioned. I cleaned the USB ports and reinstalled the USB drivers but nothing worked. I also updated iTunes and my iOS firmware but nothing works. I don't know what's wrong with the computer and I can't afford getting a new one

Questions
Hello,
Do other USB devices work? For example, if you connect a USB flash drive, does auto play come up? Are you able to see the files on the flash drive?
Did you do an upgrade from 32 to 64 or did you do a clean install? Lots of questions but the more details, the better in figuring out your issue.

Try this
Hello,
Considering your other USB devices work, it’s not a USB port issue.
It sounds like you may have a corrupt file or missing the Apple mobile support. Click on start and in the search field, type add remove then hit enter. In the add remove programs, uninstall anything that has to do with Apple. Restart Windows then reinstall iTunes.
HTH and good luck.
tried everything
I tried all of the steps you suggested now it says USB device installed successfully but it keeps on giving connecting town every second. Try to reconnect it says one of The USB you are using as malfunctioned click here for assistance in solving this problem
Strange...
Hello,
Just to verify, other devices such as USB keyboard, mouse or flash drives work and you don’t get any errors? And when you connect the iPhone, you don’t get any auto play pop up?
The next step is to try another IOS device on your computer and see what happens. Try your phone on another computer and see it’s detected.
HTH and good luck.
seems to work on another computer
I tried it on my brothers computer and it seems to work on there but I don't know why my computer keeps on giving me the error message
