Hi all, I'm looking for a heal a fitness tracker, either fre or paid, it doesn't matter. I need the app to do the following if possible.
1. Track calories.
2. Exersise, such as walking, work outs, etc.
I'm using an I-phone 5s, with the latest update.

I've been using MyFitnessPal.com for a few years now. They offer a free as well as a paid premium account. You can access your account either through the web or via their iOS app. Both the website and the app are mostly accessible. They track both food and exercise if you choose to track these. You can even scan food labels with your iOS device to enter items in your food diary. And they interface with several of the popular fitness trackers such as Fitbit, etc.

I have been using the app too and it does what you are looking for. There are minor issues here and there, but so far they have been good about fixing stuff.

After playing with this app, I'd say that it is almost 100% usable, but has one issue. In the progress tab, after clicking the add button, how can you update your weight. Voice over doesn't seem to find any picker items, radio buttons, or checkboxes.

hi. my fitness pal takes the info from your health app. so if you simply update your weight in the health app, it will then sync into the my fitness pal app and sync to it's server. handy.
much info can flow from the health app in fact.

For your health tracking, I definitely recommend MyFitnessPal. I have used it and loved it for over a year now. It just keeps getting better, now letting you input restaurant-specific dishes.

If you want something that will lead you in working out, I can't recommend Zova enough. You will have to look up the poses and exercise names if you are new to working out like I am, but the app gives you a chance to preview the list of exercises in a workout before getting started. To do that, pick out the workout you would like to see, press the Start button, then press the Play small button. This will pause the audio and let you view the exercises in peace. For example, going into a basic one like "LOwer back and hip stretch" and pressing the Start button, then the Play small buttonallows me to read that the excersises start with:

Hip Flexer Stretch Right
Upper Dog Stretch
Pro Back Rotation Left
Pro Back Rotatation Right
Hip Flexer Stretch Right
Cat-Cow pose

And then you'd have a chance to Google the exercise before deciding if you want to do that workout. Hint: Try asking "How do I do the cat-cow pose" or "How to do a cat-cow pose." It'll come back with "How to do a cat-cow pose" or whatever exercise or stretch you want, most of the time.

There are tons of workouts to pick from, from beginner to advanced, and if you have any sight it does have a video of the workouts to exercise by, but I've found it is not necessary, thanks to the great audio counting and my trusty Google search. Let's just say I had to look up what a plank was...in my days, that was just called a push-up!

The method for entering weight in My Fitness Pal was changed recently and it broke accessibility. I contacted the developers and they have recognized the problem and promised a future fix. In the mean time, the above work around is a great idea, that I wish I thought of first. Thanks.

Does this app work with health kit? And if not, can anybody recommend any apps that do work with health kit?

My Fitness Pal works with the Health app. They exchange information happily.

My trinity of health and fitness apps are, Zombies Run, Health, and My Fitness Pal. Zombies keep me motivated, Health tracks my activity and overall stats, and My Fitness Pal tracks my daily food and activity goals.

I have an apple watch so have that at my disposal and need to lose about oh 210 pounds so its going to take ots of work zombies run i will look into that and maybe logging my food will help. what else do you recommend? feel free to tweet me @lights_rage i forget to check this. I will take all free or mostly free suggestions but especially free optive is good if you can afford it i cannot. lots of apps i have found cost way too much imo.

Hi I’d look into trying MyFitnessPal because of it’s popularity and it’s accessability but if you want an all-in-one solution give MyPlate a try

I searched for this app on here but this forum topic is the only result that came up. A neighbor informed me last night about the MyPlate website. I bookmarked it and it seems very accessible with VoiceOver, but I'm curious to know if anybody on here has actually used the accompanying app. Lots of great stuff on their site though.
