Hello everyone
I would like for you to test something out for me go into your iTunes store using your mac and search for the home movie on your mac first then tell me if it reads the AD symble out then i want you to go into your iphone or ipad or ipad or apple tv and tell me how it reads the Audio description symble with the same movie the problem i found it reads ok on a mac computer but not an Iphone all it is reading on an iphone is image.
I am not sure weither this is an bug problem accessability voice over issue not reading or they don’t have a tag behind this symble tell people what it is but it reads out the close caption symble fine.
I have already contacted Apple to let them know about this problem.
I received this information from Apple I don't now to do it but I thought I would show you this anyway.
Hello,
Thank you for your email. We appreciate the feedback and wanted to let you know that Apple is currently investigating this issue. We cannot comment on when it may be resolved.
Please note, there is a workaround for this with the iTunes Store app on iOS. If you create a customer VoiceOver label for the AD image for a Movie which carries the AD identifier, VO will
correctly read the label for all other Movies which have it. This however will not work for the iTunes store on Mac OS X.

This covered in the iPhone Users guide under learning VoiceOver Gestures.

Two-finger double-tap and hold: Change an item’s label to make it easier to find.
So for example in iTunes store on iOS Open up the link for the Movie The Martian.
Swipe to the right until you land on the item named image that is just to the right of the closed captioning image.
VO will just say "Image" this is the AD badge indicating Audio Description is available. With it selected two finger double tap and hold until VoiceOver calls out that label element. This where you can re-label the image to Audio Description

reads fine on ios
It reads fine on iOS, tested it with the martian and it read it just fine.
Must be an bug issue then
Must be an bug issue then because it only read image on my end there was an software update a couple of days ago and I did that n thanks anyway keep all the movies coming because I'm creating a website with all the in one place for people to go and I will post it after I have created it.
On my iPhone 6 it says image
On my iPhone 6 it says image
Two areas not working
My iPhone running the latest IOS only reads the word "image" and not the label of audio description or AD. I also know that my older version of Apple TV is only telling me about closed captions.
How are we meant to no if it's only coming up as image
Hello it was just yesterday I contacted Apple about this issue as well I told them that the close caption logo reads fine but not the AD Logo so if you do what I did and contact Apple with the same problem ask to speak with a higher person in the IPhone section and tell them some one else in Australia mad a similar complaint as well or contact the accessibility email of Apple and tell them and if everyone else is facing similar issues to this that the AD label is not reading on a iOS device but reads fine on a Mac let them no
How are we meant to no that there are AD movies if the label dose not read
Same issue on this end as well
Again contact Apple the more people that ring in the better or the accessibility team of Apple.
Also to the advocacy team of Apple vis I don't no how you can play a part in helping to get this fixed.
mine reads fine
On my iPhone 6S it actually says AD, so don't know what the issue is, it's after where it says supported languages.
Go down by heading and you should find it.
Why would it be different for each individual.
I tested it on movies I know to have AD listed, both on iTunes on windows and on iOS.
Must be iPhone 6 issue
It must be an iPhone 6 issue then because another person on here was having the same problem as well. And they also had an iPhone 6 would you like me to make a podcast of it reading the details out to who you what it is doing
Apologise I must've been reading the wrong area
How embarrassing I would like to apologise right down the very bottom after it says information under languages and format it did read it out to me send my apologies to everyone and the person that was also having this problem read all the way down until you get to information and keep reading
Seems Fine Here Too
I just watched my first movie with audio description in iTunes today, and the movie details included that feature along with the designation for closed captioning. I am also able to locate the checkbox in System Preferences which toggles audio descriptions off and on. This is on a mid-2013 MacBook Air, and the descriptions were great.
