What are people’s preferences on whether VoiceOver should announce the number of search results as you type in iOS Apps?

We have an address search in our iOS app.

As you type results are displayed and updated in the list below.

As a voice over user would you expect to or like to hear notifications on the number of results as you type? Or just when there are no results? Or would that be annoying?

Is there anything else to consider when implementing search results?

Is there an example of an app that does this well?

I don't want to hear things as I type for one it often gets what I'm searching for wrong if it trys to auto complete. I have this issue in Netflicts and if I type to fast the app will close on me. Once I'm done typing I'll view the results I don't want to hear it as I type. That's just my preffence though.

I know of several apps like this, periscope being one and I personally find it annoying.

A good app that you should try to copy the behaviour of is the App Store.

I tried out periscope and the app store. I think I agree that periscope stating the number of results is annoying especially since it always seems to be 20 results.
