macOS and Mac Apps
Hi there. I've had my Mac for quite some time, but still can't figure this one out. Whenever I load a media file into Safari, such as a podcast, I can't move around it gracefully if I need to seek somewhere. The "back 30 seconds" and the pause buttons work ok, but could someone please explain the timeline sliders? I think one is a slider and another is just the text of the elapsed time. When I try to interact with the slider and change it, it won't jump ahead very far. To find my place in a podcast is almost impossible. How do you guys do it? Thanks!

Same Question
I have the same question, and sadly the above answer was pretty unhelpful. As far as I can tell, no matter what website or podcast, you get the same toolbar in Safari. A great example is to open an Applevis podcast in Safari. It takes you to a page with a toolbar labeled "Video Playback Toolbar" which has the following options (I believe - not at my Mac currently):
- Play button
- Skip back 30 seconds button
- Time Elapsed timer
- [Percentage elapsed] progress slider
- Time remaining timer
- Mute button
Is there a way to increment or decrement the progress slider? Or to skip forward and backward? Like Chelsea said the skip back 30s button works fine, but what about skipping forward?
Clarification: I'm referring to the OSX version of Safari. I haven't tried this on my phone to see if it's any easier.
