Can I avoid sticky keys from always being announced by voiceover?

Hi together,
Some months ago i posted the following problem, which has not bbeen fixed yet: I have to use sticky keys and voiceover on my mac, as I am blind and have the left hand paralyzed. However, whenever I press a modifier, voiceover says stickykeys. Can I turn this announcement off? I wrote various requests to apple accessibility team and to other forums, but only got back automated replies or promises. Any idea what I can do? Can someone check if this problem has been solved in macos sierra? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Helmuth

I have nearly the exact same physical problems as you, A relatively recent development, and I am wondering how you use your computer. I have been mostly sticking to the iPad and iPhone, and I am curious about how you get things done on the computer. Do you use dictation? Something else? All the details would be greatly appreciated.
