since it's a 5s
My best suggestion at this point is to restore your phone to factory defaults, and start again from scratch. Your phone will still be running iOS 10 but you will need to re-download all your apps. you can do this either by setting up your phone as a new one, or restoring from an iCloud backup, if you have one available. It doesn't sound like you have a lot of apps installed so my only guess is that you've got a defective instalation of iOS 10.0.2. Try that, and let us know if this solves your issue.
i test the resetting but....
hi tunehead, i try to reset my phone again and again but it is still get turn off, my phone history is, i baught my iPhone 5s since May this year, and it has ios version 9.2.1 when i got it, but i always grab the latest version when available, so i am updated to 10.02 now , and also after i reset the newly updated iOS the Compaq version of siri male has gone. but after i installed all of the apps i like i experience the turn offing of my phone at least once a week, any experiencing this?
thanks
suggestion
If this occurs after you download your apps, one thing you could try is to backup your data and delete all the third party apps off your phone. If the problem stops after you do this, it is probably something to do with an app. To attempt to isolate the problem app, reinstall one app at a time until you experience the problem again. Then, you can contact Apple or the app developer to help troubleshoot that app on your device.
HTH
hardware issue
if the problem still persists after checking each app and restoring then I guess it's a hardware issue, contacting apple is required in this situation.
it's good to reset
Although the iPhones are designed to be left on 24/7, just like a PC, it is advised that you reset them at least once a day to refresh the memory and other settings. Just a thought.
More info...
Hello,
Does it occur on the same day and time each week? Does it occur after you use a specific app?
I agree with the above post that you restore your device to factory and install each app and observe the phone’s behavior. Something you can try before going this route is reset all settings. Go to settings> general> reset and reset all settings. Do this twice to ensure all settings are restored. Be aware you will lose your personalized settings such as wifi password, keychain and such but it will not remove your apps.
HTH and good luck.
Ironic that this thread came
Ironic that this thread came up as I just got done reading an article about turning off your phone at least once a week can be good for it. Of course automatically doing it is an issue especially if it were to happen if you were in the middle of something.
I'm now satisfied.
I am very happy for the above ideas, i consult in sell phone technician and he said that the way of pressing the power button and home key together are just do when the phone gets hung , so may be there for, there is wrong in my apps. I will let you know My further observation .
Thanks
Battery
Could the battery be getting to warm? My PC shut down after while because of battery issue.
Anotheer idea
If it's battery-related, the iPhone will give you a warning when the battery level is at 20% so you can choose to turn on low-power mode which will extend the battery a bit more if you're in a location where charging is impossible or not practical. So, if it is the battery look out for that. In all my 5 or so years of owning an iOS device I've never had one just plane shut off on me. I've had them hang like I mentioned in a previous comment but never shut off altogether. If this persists, you'll want to take it to an Apple store or an authorized retailer and have them look at your phone. You may have just been given a bad one. I remember when I got my first Apple Bluetooth keyboard it had quit working completely. We tried new batteries, unparing it and paring it and the thing just, would, not, work. So we took it to our local Apple store, and to my shock and surprise, they gave me a new one, no questions asked. Brand new, in its box, and it worked perfectly. So sometimes, some devices just plane don't work for no reason we know of.
