HI folks.
Can anyone help my friend get Microsoft Office downloaded and installed on her MacBook? She's a college student, so apparently Office is free, using her school email address. She's new to the Mac and VoiceOver, so needs some step by step instructions, if possible.
I'm not a Mac user, so can't help as much as I would like to.
Also, more generally, what level of accessibility does Office have on the Mac these days? I'm seeing posts on the site from several years ago that say it isn't accessible. Has that situation improved?
If not, would you recommend my friend stick with Pages, Numbers, and the other Apple productivity apps? Or, should she check out another office suite from somewhere else?
Thanks for any assistance, and sorry for so many questions in one post.

it is very easy
hi Chris
it is an easy process to download office on macbook with your school account
she can visit microsoft's website concerned with office and education via this link ..
https://products.office.com/en/student/office-in-education
she will follow the steps and write her school email and download the MS office
after downloading the Ms office., she will install it like any other program through following the steps.
after installing the Ms office, she will open the program and log in with her school account so that she can activate it. then, she enjoys her mac with MS office.
and yes, the office 2016 is far better than before, It is accessible. However, she may need sometime to get used to it. and I believe it is subject to further improvements in the future updates.
regarding the other programs, if she just take notes in a lecture or something similar, she can use text edit. However, office is required if she submits assignments or papers in certain formats such as times new roman ... etc.
regarding pages, it is said that it is good as productive as office. However, o didn't get used to it. other folks can tell about it.
if you need further help, just let me know.
have a good day
Office 2016 on Mac
Hello. Office 2016 is 90% accessible on the Mac. A lot of work has gone into making it accessible.
To download it:
•Press command+F5 on your keyboard. The command key is the key just to the left of the space bar. If this is the first time VO is being turned on, there is a welcome dialogue that appears.
•Go to the dock by pressing the VO keys, control+option and the letter D (these are the keys to the left of the command key. Option appears first and then control. There is no order when pressing them.)
•Hit S.A. for the safari app.
•Use this link:

This should work. I don't have a school account so this is as far I could go. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any problems.
