Hey folks,
I just recently published an update to add VoiceOver support to a game of mine, called Sushi Go. I would love for people to try it out and give any feedback - interactions that could be improved, etc.
Sushi Go is a cute, light strategic card game by Phil Walker-Harding and Gamewright Games, and this is the official iOS version. You play sushi from a conveyor belt in different combinations, try to get the most points and prevent the others from doing the same. Be advised: it's a paid app!
Here's the app store link: https://appstore.com/michaelbusheikin/sushigo
Enjoy!

First, I really want to thank you for making this game accessible. I am big into board gaming and wish there were more accessible versions of board games on iOS. I want to thank you for making this game accessible.
I did just play my first game. I think play was quite accessible. The information you provide on what others previously played, what you have played, and what is currently available really makes it easy to pick up this game the first time through. I will admit that after the first round, I did miss the fact that I needed to swipe to hear the scores of other players (my first game was a 3 player game.) The first time through that screen, I just double tapped the button thinking I would see the other scores. The next time through, I spent a little more time exploring that screen and finding out I needed to swipe to hear the other scores. My only major problems happened when I first started the game--and I am not really sure what happened.
When you first start the game there are some screens with information about the game. For some reason, I wasn't able to tap past that screen initially. I eventually made it past that screen, but I am not sure what I did differently. I ended up double tapping on all the items. The first time through, nothing seemed to happen. Part way through the second time, it let me into the game.
I actually work on evaluating accessibility of apps in my day time job--I had today off. So, I went through settings to check it out. When I finished going through all the other settings, I double tapped the tutorial button. The tutorial worked great. However, when I finished and went back to the main screen, the only option was to play the tutorial. I went through the tutorial a second time (starting from the main menu) and this time it let me start playing a regular game.
Thanks again for making this game accessible. I plan on buying a copy for my brother's family so the kids and I can play together on our iphones. I also plan on recommending it to friends.
Hi Tim,
Hi Tim,
This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll check out those three things:
1) Which screen were you on that it wouldn't let you past the first time?
2) Making the score screen clearer, to say you can swipe between players
3) The main screen not seeing that the tutorial is finished.
If there's anything else you notice later on, feel free to reply, or send me an email through the app!

Loving the game! Only one major bug found
Hey Michael! Thanks so much for making this game playable for us! When I see developers making an effort to make games accessible, I don't think twice. I buy them right away!
I'm loving to play it, found only one critical bug with the chopsticks. If I'm using voiceover, I can't touch them to trade for an item. And if I disable voiceover to do it, when I turn voiceover back on it doesn't work, so I'd really appreciate if it can be fixed in the next version.
Congratulations and thanks again, will keep playing
Never mind
Hey Michael. I've spent some time with the game and found how to use the chopsticks! You just have to select the actions in the rotor menu, but it wasn't clear at first.
Could be because I'm using the Portuguese language, which is really cool to have, by the way.
I believe I found a way to stop the game though. With voiceover enabled, try to use the chopsticks when there's only one sushi left.
Talking about the screen which isn't clear on where to tap, this is only a minor issue, because it only appears when you open the game for the first time, I think it's showing the news of the update. Double tapping on the unlabeled button near the bottom of the screen takes to the main menu.
On Swapping
Hi Matheus,
This is great! For the three things you brought up:
1) The first screen, the one that's messed up (for Tim too) is the Soy Sauce promo. I missed it because it only shows up one time ever, so I'll make sure to fix it for VO.
2) I'll try to make clearer how chopsticks swapping works, even if you missed it in the tutorial. Maybe some text on the played chopsticks that says "Swap with a custom action on a sushi in the conveyor belt" or something like that.
3) It's not a bug - you can't swap the last card with a chopsticks! The reason is that you'd be forced to play the chopsticks anyways, which means the swap is pointless.
Thanks again for the feedback!
Michael
Awesome game
I browsed through the AppleVis forum and found this game and I bought it today and I love it. I have been playing this a lot. Sometimes, I don’t hear which move my oponen does but this is a small problem. I am delighted to see that most of this game is in swedish. This is really cool. This was very unexpected.
PS: I love sushi.
Question
What is the soy sause? Haven’t gotten the chance to see that.
Chop sticks
I figured out the soy sauce. But I cannot for the life of me find out how to swap the sticks for a sushi.
