issue with apple maps

iOS & iPadOS

Hi All

Anyone noticed an issue in iOS 11 where Apple Maps repeatedly says "Places Visible"? This also affects the Transit app in the city where I live. It's been reported to Apple but the more voices the better.

I am having the same issues with VO and Maps and Transit app. I don't have this problem verry often but when I do, I can't seem to resolve the issue. I have contacted Apple to mension this difficulty. thanks for the reminder to contact Apple.

Hello, today i had to go to not very known place. So used apple maps. This was my firs time i use maps on ios 11. And i really confused, because Voice over doesn't read how many meters left to next turn.. Instead it says "left no turn" and nothing els.

Hello, what you are described it's heppands to me also in the Mooveit app, not in Apple Maps app only. i am getting a message "no places visible" all the time wen i uses the app, i think that it's general problem and not related to one app.

Since I installed IOS11 when I open Blindsquare and tell it to plan a route using Apple Maps, I no longer get turn by turn directions from Apple Maps.
My work around has been to open maps, put in where I want to go, then click navigate to, then open Blindsquare and select the place I want to go to so I get updated info on where I am as I'm walking along. Not the most efficient.

I have now the exact same issue.
I run IOS 11 latest version, with appelmaps and the latest version of blindsquare.
For what ever reason I won't have spoken directions from applemaps when I fire op the program via blindsquare. What is wrong? HasDoes any one now found a workaround to get it talking again the way it should?
I am using googlemaps now, I still get talking directions from that app, but I feel that that is a huge battery drane on my phone.

This is exactly why I will not use Apple Maps. They have had nothing but problems ever since Apple decided to take on mapping on their own instead of partnering up with Google. That would’ve been the smartest thing for them to do instead of just trying to strike out on their own and claim they’re so good at napping.
