Hello! I am looking for information on how to use ProTools with VoiceOver. Does anyone know of any good resources to learn the software?Any help is appreciated.
I am trying to find similar resources about using VoiceOver in general and for video editing. So if you happen to come across that, could you post here? Thanks!
One of my biggest complaints about email lists for supporting any application is that, while they're great at what they're for and what they do, they're not the first place to go if you want to learn something from taking it out of the box to making it dance on command for you. I'm struggling with this right now with the very Pro Tools under discussion. While the Googlegroups email list and the WhatsApp chat are great resources, I don't know enough to get much out of them currently because I'm literally just getting started--installed just two days ago! So I don't even know what I don't know. Some of it is easy enough to figure out if I want to spend hours and hours doing so, but it sure would be useful to have a real foundation course in this program for those just getting started and coming from other programs like it. By the way, I have the same complaint about Logic and Reaper, so I'm not singling PT out at all.
First off, I hope I'm putting this message in the right place. If not, some kind admin will move it for me I'm sure.
Many screenreaders on other platforms have the capability of customizing on a per-application basis. I thought VoiceOver can do this, too, but I cannot find anything about how to do it in any of the various VoiceOver guides and tutorials online or on the Mac itself. Am I dreaming that this capability exists? If it does, how is it used?
Thanks in advance for any help on this. I have a few applications where VO customization would go a long way, but I can't figure out if it's even possible to do. Too bad if it isn't.
Steve, go to the app you want to create an activity for and once there go to the voiceover utillity and find activities in the list. tab to add and you'll be in a dialog that lets you customize what you want to happen. There is a button that says apps and websites. Press it and pic your app from the list. Hope that helps.
There are at least two ways outside of VoiceOver to create keyboard commands. Option-K in logic Pro X is one way to create key commands for logic pro bucks. It is very very helpful. You can also get the high sierra manual to learn about the other method (S) for creating keyboard commands outside of voiceover. Inside voiceover, of course, you can use the various commanders, I E., The number pad commander, the keyboard commander, or the quick nav commander. Any of these commanders can be programmed to produce new VoiceOver functions. Good luck.
To take a look at that other method outside VoiceOver to create keyboard shortcuts, go to, system preferences right arrow keyboard right arrow shortcuts. Lastly, for maximum control, learn Apple Scripps.
