Hi. I am new to the MAC and have a couple of questions.
1. I have tried to reduce the verbocity of Voiceover speech as much as possible, however, I still get messages like "Press VO SHIFT Down Arrow To Interact." Is there a way I can turn this off? It is very useful, when first getting used to MAC keystrokes, however, after a while, the verrbage is too much. I have listened to a few podcasts, regarding keystrokes and Voiceover on the MAC and these messages are not read out. Can you please advise how to turn them off?
2. How can I best access apps on my MacBook, even if they do not appear in the Doc or Launch Pad?

Hi,
Hi,
To deactivate hints, go into Vo utility, then find the utility categories table, go to verbosity, then find the hints tab. Disable the check box that says speak hint the VO cursor passes, and also disable the help tag feature. that is the popup button that is right next to the check box.
To access apps on the mac, you've got the finder. Think of it as a MS windows desktop, where all the things are usually stored. There's various apps like pages, mail, etc that you can open by hitting CMD+O.

In response to item 2:
To access the applications folder where a majority of your apps will be located, press VO+shift+D to move focus to the desktop. Once focus is on the desktop, press CMD+shift+A to open the applications folder. Use the arrow keys to locate the app you wish to access and press CMD+O or CMD+Down arrow to open the selected app.

That's one way. The other i've found is to go into the finder window, then press Shift+CMD+A to then go into the applications folder, no need of going to the desktop.
Just another work around!
Yet another way
Are used the right option key in keyboard commander in conjunction with letters representing a variety of my most favorite apps, for example, right option L mediately opens my logic Pro X app. I don’t have to go to Finder. I don’t have to go anywhere. All I have to do is press right option key L.
Add to dock
Hi,
I am really quite lazy and find the easiest way to open a frequently used App is from the dock.
Once you have an App open on your desktop, it is a breeze to add it to your dock. With the App Open, navigate to your dock, find the App and use the Up Arrow to expand choices. From within the Options Menu you can check the Keep in Dock box and, boom, you're done.
For everyday Apps, such as Mail and Messages, , I also select the Open at Login box. That way, when I start my Mac my key Apps open automatically. Did I mention that I am really quite lazy..?
