Thanks for taking the time to explore some of the New features of iOS 12.
My biggest worry is the change to Apple Books, I know some people found that app in accessible in the past but I really enjoyed it and hope they haven’t changed it too much, as I like to read books with voice-over.
Privacy concerns
It also occurs to me that a lot of personal data is beimg monitored such as in the battery and screen time app.
I wonder if there is a way to passcode protect this.

Great Walkthrough
Thanks for this nice walkthrough of iOS 12. I'll most probably be holding off on updating at least for a little while, as I just got my iPhone a few months ago and am still learning it. I'm happy thus far with iOS 11, but iOS 12 definitely seems like it will be worthwhile too.
Questions and Answers
Hey Ipadman. As I can understand your concerns. The good news is that on the Screen Time feature. You can use the passcode feature to lock this app. This is within the Settings -> Screen Time -> Lock with a Passcode.
Unfortunately, the battery does not offer this feature to lock down. Although, a work around would to put a restriction on the app but it would be kind of a pain to unlock it and then when you are done to lock it back up. Unless, some one may have an alternative solution for this.
Will, made a good point and something to consider. If you decide to get the iPhone Xr or the 10r. That you will no longer have the 3D Touch functionality. I believe you will have to go back to the double tap and hold with one finger to implement those 3D Touch functions on the newer phone. We will have to wait and see though!

Weather notifications
Hello, first off I want to say I really enjoyed your podcast as I always do. When you were demonstrating the new layout of the notification Center, you had some pretty detailed weather information in there. I know you were using the Dark Sky app, but what other weather apps were you using to get all that detailed information? I thought maybe it was the native weather app for the iPhone, I went into the settings but couldn’t find anything for the native weather app in there. I do use the Dark Sky weather app and I like it, but just curious what other weather app you are using to get all that information? Thank you.
The Weather Channel

I'm glad you enjoyed the podcast! Yes, the weather alerts that you heard in the podcast is from The Weather Channel app. Although, it isn't very accessible, and I don't use it for checking the weather but simply for the alerts. It offers some alerts that you can't find in other weather apps without paying for a subscription. The alerts I love from the app is the rain, lightning, and the pollen alerts. If you do decide to download the app. It is very easy to set up. Just open the Weather Channel app. Double tap the upper left button. Swipe a few times and go to My Alerts. From there you can turn on in what you want. The best part is that is free. Oddly, I love using the Rain Alert along with the Dark Skies as the TWC will alert me rain when the Dark Skies doesn't. So it works great together. Hope that helps and I hope you enjoy it!

So Far So Good on My End
Well, I just updated to iOS 12 last week after the release, and I like it thus far. I noticed the addition of air quality in the native weather app. That is the only weather app I have on my iPhone currently, and it is very good. But I am definitely going to see about downloading at least one of these 3rd-party weather apps. Oddly enough, one of my sighted tutors has Carrot Weather and he checked the forecast one evening recently when I was in his car. I told him that I thought the app worked well with the screen reader built into the iPhone, and he was glad to hear that.
Saving a location in the weather channel app. Sayssy
Hello, thank you for telling me about the weather channel app. I did download it, and I set up my alerts. However, there are a couple of alerts I can’t set up and less I save a location. I’m trying to save my city and state where I live as a location, but I can’t figure out how to do this. Is this possible to do with voiceover, or do I need cited help to save my city and state as a save location? Thanks again, very much appreciated.
