A good app, but needs improvement
activating mobile tickets
Hi all, wondering if anyone knows how to activate mobile tickets in this app? I successfully purchased my mobile ticket, and it says the ticket is ready for activation on the day of travel, on the my tickets tab next to where it shows the date of my journey I see two unlabeled buttons followed by a view tickets button.
I don't particularly want to tap either of these unlabeled buttons not knowing what will happen, if I tap view tickets I only see information for my outward ticket but not my return one. any help would be appreciated, and of course if there is a friendlier app than trainline I would certainly be interested in knowing about it, all the train operators apps seem to use the same rather poor user interface. I did look at the traintimes UK app recommended on this page but it hasn't been updated in around two years so assume its a bit out of date by now, certainly one of the reviews says that a particular station can't be found.
I did also read the forum topic from 2016 about activating mobile tickets, and I think the UI has been revised since then as I actually see nothing at all about activating tickets, and the two unlabeled buttons weren't mentioned in that topic so I presume the controls in the app have been changed since that topic was created. wondering if it was really such a good idea buying a mobile ticket, but really I don't want to fiddle with loads of bits of paper, plus it saves me 20 pence on the booking fee.
