Hi,I'm looking at getting into more audio editing on my iPhone and was wondering if there were any apps for capturing internal audio like from Safari or other apps similar to Audio Highjack on the Mac? I used that app often for grabbing sound effects and stuff from Youtube and also for capturing VOIP calls. Thanks,Jesse

Not that I know of.
The iOS audio system has always been by far the most frustrating experience for me, and I think I would be much more inclined to consider an iPad or other iOS device as a main machine if it were less restrictive. As it stands, I don't know of a way to give an app access to something else's audio stream. However, in your example, you mentioned grabbing sound effects from YouTube; it's not hard to download videos directly and put them in your editor of choice. There's stuff like audiobus, but apps have to specifically implement that. It's not a smooth ride at all and unless I'm missing something, I'd definitely suggest sticking with the Mac for serious audio manipulation if it involves other apps.
Youtube Audio
Thank you for that. I'm glad to know that I can download Youtube videos and extract the audio. I know of some places to do this on the computer but do you recommend any for iOS? That would solve one of my issues. The other one is around not being able to import any of my Apple Music content but I understand that is a rights issue.
Capturing Youtube videos into Audio with an iOS Device
Hello,
Try using this site on your iOS device if you would like to extract audio from YouTube . This site is very accessible with VoiceOver.

I would be aware of rights issues, oh yes.
