Is there any way to permanently permanently delete Books from iCloud

Hi there, so the issue I'm having is this.
I recently downloaded a corrupted version of an e-book from the Apple Store, and decided to delete the book and try to re-download it.
When I go into the Books app and into the more actions menu, there is an option to delete books everywhere, which I click and the book disappears, however when I go to re-download the book, the original corrupted version reappears.
I was wondering if there was a way to permanently delete Books from my device and iCloud, so that I can download a new version of the book to read.

But how do you know it is the exact same file and not another copy?
perhaps the original is corrupted and you keep getting copies?
