Hi,
I did some searches around before posting this on AppleVis and ViPhone, but only found 1 post.
It seems that Bose Music app is required to setup and configure (the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 and Home Speaker 300/500). Unfortunately, the great accessibility improvements to the recent Bose Connect app (Bose Frames and Bose QC-35 II)didn't transfer to Music app.
A couple of questions:
- Have others experienced this or found a workaround?
- Does someone have a contact or best channel to report accessibility issues with Bose Music app?
Thanks!

Bose Music App isn't VoiceOver accessible
The agreement of accepting their terms to use the app is not accessible with VoiceOver. You can turn off VoiceOver and tap around the screen once you have the check box selected with VoiceOver. This is not the easiest process in the world, but it can be done.
All the features in the app as far as I can tell seem to work fine with VoiceOver. I didn't notice anything else that was not accessible or unlabeled other then initially agreeing to the terms and conditions.
You don't need the app to set up a device though unless you want to change a setting from the default. I think you can also equalize certain Bose products using the app.
You can connect the device using Bluetooth as long as it is in pairing mode and use the products with no problem. That's how I originally set up some of my devices just using bluetooth because I didn't think of the work around for their terms and conditions screen until recently.
I actually have the 700s and
I actually have the 700s and had no problem setting them up or using any feature of the headphone. The app is a little clunky though but it’s clunky for everyone not just us!
Recent Voiceover Developments With Bose Music?
Hello all!
I just purchased a Bose Home 500 speaker last week. I was about to take it out of the box, but I began reading the previous posts concerning VoiceOver accessibility, or the lack thereof in the Bose Music app. Before I try the app, has there been any recent improvement in Voiceover accessibility since last summer's posts? Do I still need sighted help to agree to the terms of service? Will I be home free once I get past this initial barrier? In short, have there been any recent improvements? I really like the sound from this cool speaker, and I don't want to take it back to the store. So I hope that the Bose music app will somehow give me at least some of the accessibility that the Bose Connect app provides. Any new thoughts on this before I take it for a spin?
correction, only one part of the app isn't accessible.
Only one screen isn't accessible, furthermore, it appears 1 or 2 buttons on the app aren't accessible. To be fair, I already have a bose account so all I had to do was sign into the bose music app and was good to go. I have had the bose 700 and bose music app for a day at the time of writing, and can reassure you, that the app itself is fully accessible, all buttons are clearly labelled and the app is easy to navigate. Plus, the app has gone through quite a few versions since the original post, so hopefully those buttons now work for those who don't already have an account and need to sign up from scratch. It is true you don't need the app to use the headphones, but as another commenter said, if you want to change the deafult settings it's a nice extra. :) or even just play around with them but not make any new changes, it's nice to explore. :) I for instance, have set my voice assistant to Alexa. :) I've got siri on the airpods, and since Alexa is so integrated, I thought, "Why not, something different. :) So in short, just clarifying that yes, the app is in fact accessible. Just one part of it is or was inaccessible. If there were more unlabelled elements or navigation issues, then there might be grounds for saying the whole entire app isn't accessible, which is how the title of this post reads, leading me to initially believe "Oh nooooo! the whole app isn't accessible, what a bummer." only to find out reading comments and trying the app out that it is in fact fully accessible accept the initial sign up agree screen for new accounts. If someone could still clarify this is still an issue that would be great. I also noticed there is no article on the app in the ios app directory from doing a search, so perhaps It's up to me to put one in. :) I hope this helps future readers.
