Best Watch Faces To Use With VO

Hi folks. I've recently upgraded to an apple waqtch series 4 and I'm having some issues with VO reading out certain complications.

So, i started off with Infograph and once i had all my complication set up, i discovered that VoiceOver wouldn't speak the messages complication. Bit bizarre really. I then changed to infograph modular and discovered I had the same problem.

Are there faces that don't work as well as others or do I have a problem here?

I use the plain modular on my series 3. It has five complications, so I can get almost all the information I want on one face. I have the Messages on the top left, Weather Gods in the center, and then Activity, Pedometer and Workout across the bottom. I have an Activity face if I want more workout details, and the Mickey Mouse face in case I need a smile from hearing his voice.

Thanks for this. I just discovered there was a newer version of Watch OS so currently upgrading. I'll take a look once it's finished.

To me all faces work well with voiceover. Like the Mickey and Mini mouse faces. Sadley I heard that OS 6 will not have them.

Just like real estate, the ones in the middle have more space. The ones at the bottom have less space, it’s important where of the complication is placed because that determines how much data can actually show. I hope someone can elaborate further.

Hi. Well when I used the infograph face, I had messages at the top. I then changed it to the bottom with infograph modular but still no joy. Either way, I've got modular on there now and all complications are actually speaking, now if I could just get my watch to shut up whenever I close the drawer on my bedside table or my dog lies down by the side of my bed I would be a happy lady. It drives me mad.

You probably have the watch in stand mode on. Go to setting and turn it off. I have my watch charger in a small place that Bella the cat sits and does not do anything because I turn it off.

Hi. My husband has an Apple Watch series 4, is currently using the utility face because it allows him to hear the announcement of seconds, but he would like to use a face with more complications. He tried themodular face which is what I use but no seconds were announced. I contacted apple support and their sage advice was to try every single watch face available. According to the advisor they couldn’t help with that as it would involve them trying every face available to them. Well, as they clearly weren’t up for this, what on earth gives them the impression that someone else might be? You’d think Apple would have this information readily available as they created the faces. We might be in lockdown right now but that doesn’t mean we don’t have stuff to do. Lol. So can any awesome user give me the answer I need?

I use California, and moridian sometimes. I do not know if your watch will have it. I use Series 5.

In the vo settings there is an option to always speak seconds.

Thanks a lot for your updates. I even didn't know much about it. But I learned a lot from your post.
