Why does App switcher not work with the latest upgrade to iOS 16 can anyone help fix this?
Also mail says no unread messages. However, there can be many unread messages when you open mail
Does anyone know a fix for this? thank you
iOS and iPadOS
Hi guys.
Has anyone had any success with dictation in iOS 16? whilst actually dictating works just fine I can’t access the on-screen keyboard which was one of the new big features whilst dictating. Am I missing anything?
This seems to apply to Siri as well, VoiceOver doesn’t seem to be able to access the Siri interface whilst speaking with Siri.
any thoughts?
For reasons I can't begin to guess, iOs 16 has taken it upon itself to re-sort several of my playlists. I would very much like to get the songs back into the order in which I had them. Is there a way to do this? I've read that there is a new Sort option that one accesses by tapping three dots at the top of the playlist, but I do not see those three dots. Neither tapping More nor Edit bring up this purported sorting option. Moreover, whereas you used to be able to drag songs to where you wanted them, that doesn't even seem to work anymore.
Hi all, hope you’re well. A big thank you to those who helped me with my last post. I have an iPhone 12 mini 250 6GB, yesterday I updated to iOS 16. Ever since then I've been having some strange issues with Notification Centre and Control Centre. The swipe up and swipe down gestures to access notifications and Control Centre no longer work. Also in iOS 15 double tapping on any notification used to take me to its corresponding app for example I could tap on a WhatsApp notification and be taken into WhatsApp.
I just got an Ios16 iphone SE. I haven't heard many good things about ios 17. Those who updated to ios17 do you prefer it over ios16? Does it have fewer bugs? Did you regret upgrading? My main focus is stability and fewer bugs not new features.
Thank you very much
Hi all!
Truth is that I am terrified to update from iOS 15 to iOS 16. Of course I know I will eventually take that step into the unknown, but is this the right time to do so?
I have read too many posts on this website that are expressing complaints about iOS 16, thus I am afraid to lose some of what I already have. for example, I would be quite annoyed if the quality of the VO voices is degraded, or if some of my apps stop working. there are also countless other things that could go wrong, which I haven’t even thought about.
Hello,
So ever since I updated to iOS 16, I have been getting this extremely annoying issue.
The issue usually happens when using stereo mode, that being the bottom mic is the left channel and the back mic is the right channel. Whenever this is activated for me, VoiceOver, and the phone in general, are rendered entirely useless. You have to hope that it eventually works itself out, or desperately try to figure out how to make your phone responsive again.
Hello, I am translating this message from Turkish to English. I started using iOS 16 version. In iOS 15, I was able to use text recognition on the screenshot I took. If I tapped once in the middle of the screen and swiped my finger to the left, the recognized text would be spoken throughout. Currently, for iOS 16, this does not work. When I touch the middle of the screen and slide my finger to the left, Detected Lift subject says. I have no clue what this is. How is the situation on your phone?
I have reported this to Apple, but noticed in the main post about iOS 16, that others only see the application switcher bug when invert colors is enabled. On my iPhone 13 mini when voiceover is on, I cannot open the app switcher even though I have turned off both invert colors and dark mode. Is anyone else still seeing the app switcher bug even with invert colors and dark mode both turned off and voiceover on?
The noise is only there when VoiceOver is turned on, I could not get the power-off sound to play with VoiceOver off. Furthermore, the device has to not be on mute.
But it seems iOS 16.1 has a feature for the blind, so we know when our phones are turning off. There's no power-on sound effect however, either with or without VO--at least not on my iPhone 13.
Can anyone else confirm?
I’m using an iPhone 13, running iOS 16.1. Issue:
When recording with voice memos, with an external input device connected to the lightning connector, such as the smart, AMBIO headset, when the iPhone locks, you are not able to read the lock screen with voiceover, you are only able to read the status bar.
You are unable to bring up the pass code option to unlock the device.
This doesn’t seem to happen if you don’t have a third-party input device connected.
I can’t hardly use safari and pandora because the internet is freezing and removing my selected voice and putting it back into the default mode. Sometimes it will kick me out of my apps too.
I don’t know how to report this bug to Apple. Also the focus issue is even worse for me now.
Can this be fixed?
I recently did factory reset on iPhone SE 2020. Voice over now speaks gibberish, in addition to text. The issue is consistent throughout all apps. Apple support said this is a known issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? Thank you!
I’m running 16.4.1 on a 12Pro Since updating to this version, the (already present) problems with VO focus moving around erratically have worsened dramatically. In Safari, for example, when I am in the middle of a page, it will sometimes randomly announce “screen curtain on” and shoot focus back up to the top. (Note: screen curtain is on, but it has been on throughout).
Is anybody else encountering this weirdness, and, if so, have you found a setting or anything else to alleviate the problem?
hi I just updated to IOS 16.5 on iphone SE. My question is IOS 16.5
is accessible on iphone SE? let me. know because i am having a issue with siri now
Hey everyone,
I recently updated to iOS 17 and noticed that the Braille screen input function is no longer sending my messages in apps like Messages or WhatsApp when I swipe up with three fingers. It's quite frustrating, as this was a feature I heavily relied on.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a workaround or a possible solution? I'd greatly appreciate any advice or insights you may have.
Thanks in advance!
Sadik
There is a detailed description here: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264410
Basically, since iOS 17 some mobile applications and websites that use a particular technology that previously was working have stopped supporting VoiceOver, this is breaking accessibility and preventing people from properly using a wide-range of apps and websites.
Apple has released iOS 17.0.1 to the general public today as well as a bunch of other updates.
The release notes say that security issues have been fixed, and that there have been bug fixes for the iPhone 15 and 15 pro.
It's a double point update, so not expecting any new features or changes, but if you find any improvements or bug fixes, please feel free to leave them here.
Good afternoon,
I’m writing today, to inform all of you that IOS17.1.1 & related updates have been released.
please update when you are able, and report back any findings, as there has not been notification from AppleVis as to what’s new and or changed.
The iOS 17.2 update notes say:
Catch-up arrow lets you easily jump to your first unread message in a conversation by tapping the arrow visible in the top-right corner
I do not see this arrow in the top right corner using Voiceover. How does one get to this feature?
