Story-based game Recommendations

I am off work at the moment recuperating, so I’ve finally started to look at the stockpile of iOS games I have. But if I’m honest most games really don’t do it for me - I’ve never liked IDLE or rogue-like games, and I found most RPGs very boring because they seem to consist of grinding over and over again. There aren’t many binaural games I’ve got on with - I think Blind Drive is the only one I’ve got to grips with - all the I’ve tried a number of other ones but I’m too inept.

So what I’m looking for are some recommendation for some good games with stories that aren’t going to keep showing me a game over screen or force me to read a thousand pages of tutorials before I start, or have any gameplay mechanics designed just to waste my life away.

Can anyone recommend anything similar? I did try Brock but got a little stuck and gave up.

Sorry I know we have loads of similar posts for people asking for this sort of thing but most people are looking for something different. (IE most people aren't as lazy as me when it comes to this sort of thing and are more prepared to put effort into games).

(I would also accept Mac game recommendations)

I wonder if at some point it would be good to add some kind of categorisation system to the Applevis app directory, so I could just see a list of story games, or idle games or whatever I was interested in.
