Posted on Friday, December 5, 2025 by Michael Hansen

I’ve been thinking about something for the last couple days, and I admit at the outset that I have gone back and forth on whether or not to write about it.

Earlier this week, Apple released a new film, “I’m Not Remarkable,” in honor of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. While I think the film is a groundbreaking work of creative…

iPhone Air Review: Is this the one Steve Jobs would have liked?

Posted on Monday, November 17, 2025 by Dave Nason

The iPhone Air launched in September 2025 alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. It may not turn out to be the biggest seller of the four, but it is the most talked about. Apple have kindly loaned me an iPhone Air to review, and I’ve been using it full time for the past three weeks.

Unsurprisingly, the first thing that jumps out at you when you unbox this phone is how thin and light it is. But how does it perform, and is it worth considering ahead of the other…

Posted on Monday, November 3, 2025 by AppleVis

Apple has today released macOS Tahoe 26.1, watchOS 26.1, tvOS 26.1, and HomePod Software 26.1 to the public.

As with iOS 26.1 and iPadOS 26.1, macOS Tahoe 26.1 adds a new "Tinted" option for Liquid Glass, which we believe may improve the legibility of visual elements that use that design language for some users. This setting can be found in System Settings > Appearance.

Our experience is that the following accessibility bugs have been resolved in macOS Tahoe 26.1:

Am I crazy, or could I go back to the iPhone 12 mini?

Posted on Thursday, September 25, 2025 by Dave Nason

It’s throwing no shade on Apple, quite the opposite arguably, when I say that iPhones just don’t get that much better year on year anymore. They’ve reached a really high level, and so can last even the most nerdy among us, a very long time.

As regular visitors to AppleVis may have read, I have been mulling over the idea of purchasing the iPhone Air of late. Funnily enough, this took even me by surprise as all year I have been absolutely determined that I do not need, or even want, a…

iPhone 17 Pro Max: Some (Very Early) Initial Impressions

Posted on Saturday, September 20, 2025 by Michael Hansen

Apple released its 2025 iPhones today. I was able to preorder an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and have spent the last couple hours setting it up. While the selling point of the iPhone 17 Pro Max was the increased battery life (something I obviously have not been able to test yet), I found myself surprised and impressed in other ways.

This year, Apple redesigned the Pro iPhones. The frame of the phone is made from a single piece of aluminum, giving the phone a singular, cohesive feel in the…
