Why did youtube move comments on iPhone? They were fine the way they were. Is that what the world's coming to? People are too lazy to scroll down for comments?

hi!
the accessibility on the youtube app is a little bit tricky
when I go to the suscribes tap and it has 3 taps on the top.
like unwatch, already watched and live.
and when using voiceover. we can not find this 3 taps.
and we have to turn on screen recognition on to find it.

Hi Charlene. if you want to share a video in the YouTube app, do the following. One, find and double tap the collapse video button. two, locate the title of the video you are currently watching. three, using one finger, swipe down on the videos title until you reach the share menu and double tap. I know this is kind of a roundabout way of Sharing videos, but it worked.

Is there a way to rearrange videos in a playlist? YouTube help says you can do this, but I haven’t found a way using voiceover. Any help?
Thanks.

I tried everything I could think of in both the YouTube app and in Safari and I can’t get anything to work. Do you have access to a computer? At this point, I’m thinking that’s the only way to do it. Sorry I couldn’t be more help. Hope someone else can figure it out.

Let's say someone named Jack Johnson left a comment in the comment section. Scroll onto his name and VoiceOver will say Jack Johnson, Jack Johnson. The repeating of usernames is unnecessary and annoying.

On the computer you have to drag it.

Accessibility appears to be completely broken in the latest YouTube update. I updated this on January 17, 2023. I cannot change channels. I cannot find videos. I cannot like videos. All roter actions appear to be disabled. I even went and deleted and then reinstalled the app. Whoever passed this lump into the toilet bowl should be ashamed of themselves!

If this is true, I'll be sending an email to Google Disability Support.

I cannot be the only one having the issues with YouTube making the app almost completely unusable over the last two updates. Surely others are experiencing this issue? I would expect to see lots of posts about this. Running the latest iPhone 13 with the latest iOS update.

So after my previous two messages about my problems with YouTube, a friend of mine asked me if I had turned off screen recognition. Of course I hadn't. After all, I hadn't turned it on! Yet, when I went into the YouTube app and checked, screen recognition was turned on. Seriously, I had not realized it was on. I sure did not intentionally turn it on so it never occurred to me that could be a problem. Also, screen recognition makes one think it should improve accessibility of a program not destroy it. In the end, I am forced to believe that either I accidentally turned it on or that something happened during an app update where Apple turned it on. Anyway, if you encounter a completely unusable version of YouTube, try it and see if that fixes your problem.

Hello. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of YouTube shorts on the home page? I realize it has the tab at the bottom, but I'm talking about the Shorts heading that pops up on my home feed. Thanks.

By Brad on Monday, November 6, 2023 - 16:22

I think there might be a button next to the heading that if you tap on it, you can tap on nnot interested and it will hide them for a month but that's about it.

By Andy Lane on Monday, November 6, 2023 - 16:22

It’s a bit of a pain but you have to go through each and every short in the list, swipe to not interested on them all. Once you’ve done that, you won’t see shorts for a little while but like Brad said, they will come back then you’ll have to do it again. It only takes 5 minutes or less to do it each time but it’s unnecessary, the user of a product who pays for a product should be able to say what they do and don’t want instead of a company deciding what increases addiction and therefore engagement. IMHO.

By sockhopsinger on Monday, November 6, 2023 - 16:22

I am able to get rid of them online, at least for 30 days like you suggested. However, I am unable to find a button in the app on my phone. Thanks again though for the feedback.

By sockhopsinger on Monday, November 6, 2023 - 16:22

When I'm on my computer I don't mind when shorts pop up because it is extremely easy to disable them for anotehr 30 days right then. However, when I'm on my phone and they start popping up again, that's the thing I want to be able to get rid of right then.
