Apple Hardware and Compatible Accessories

Post Date:

Hi. I know this is decades away, and this is my first post by the way, so I’m new to this. I’ve been hearing Leakes about the VR headset, the AR or VR headset, virtual reality headset that Apple‘s about to come up with, supposedly to replace the iPhone. Do you really think, they’re actually going to replace the iPhone? And if they actually did that, let’s say they did that, would it have anything to do with Accessibility? Because so far I’ve seen nothing regarding voiceover on those headsets or nothing like that i’m even hearing they’re gonna come up with glasses like that as well

Hi all!
I've got a new Apple Magic Keyboard. It works propperly with iPad mini 6, but iPhone 14 doesn't pronounce the characters when typing on the keyboard. It pronounces the space key only. Can I do anything to fix it?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I notice when my mini jambox is connected voiceover seems to be more sluggish when swiping or just navigating in general. It's odd because it only happens when the jambox is connected. When I turn it off vo is fine. I have a 5s running 8.3 but I've also noticed this behavior in 8.2 as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello all,
I have been researching accessories for the iPad Air 4th Generation (2020). Of course, one of the first accessories I considered was the new Apple Magic keyboard with track pad for the iPad. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get my hands on one of these keyboards, so I have done lots of research on the internet. So, other than the $299 price, I thought it sounded like a pretty decent keyboard... And, IF the trackpad works with VoiceOver the same way as it does on a Mac, then that would be worth the cost.

First-time poster who finds this site very helpful! I have an Iphone 5S running IOS 9.1. Ever since I upgraded to IOS 8 last year through the most current IOS 9.1, VO stutters after I answer an incoming call with my BT headset, and the only way I've found to stop it is to shut my phone off and start it up again. I don't think it is unique to a particular BT headset brand/model, because it has happened on 3 different BT headsets I have. If anyone else is experiencing this issue and can suggest a fix, I'd appreciate it! It is pretty annoying!

Once this tool is up and running/connected, to an iPhone in my case, it can insert measurement readings into edit fields, as if it were a keyboard. VO reads the numbers without any issues. Nothing else about it is directly accessible; ie you have to remember which button is which and how many times to push it to change to the unit you want, etc.
*Changing a couple of things I incorrectly stated, but the instruction sheet is readable by Seeing AI or other apps. The devices LCD display does not seem to be readable though.*

For those of you who have the iPhone X are, do you have problems with your battery? If I am using voice over navigating things like Facebook, Kendall, and doing regular things like checking my email, my battery life goes down to 40%. This phone she at least give me 14 hours of battery life with using voice over. This is my third replacement. I’ve been having battery issues since I got this phone. I should say when I first got this phone, the battery life was great even with using voice over I get about 14 hours a better life now I can’t even get half of that.

Hi.
I've got a soundlink revolve speaker yesterday.
But I can't use it very good. I want the sound from my iphone in the speaker, but almost nothing comes through the speaker.
No voice over, nothing from other apps, just music.
Can I do anything about this?

Hi there. OK so bit of an odd question, but when for example an iPhone or iPad is connected to an audio interface, IE DJ mixer, is there anyway to stop voiceover defaulting to this output? I am basically looking to update my DJ set up using an iPad pro, but worried that Voiceover is going to be coming out of my PA system, obviously not ideal for a wedding gig! lol. Thoughts please? Thanks.

Greetings.

I am using an iPhone 8 with the latest version of iOS (15.1).

Recently, when I connect my phone to my Amazon Echo via bluetooth and try to switch audio destination, nothing happens. I am trying to switch from having VoiceOver staying on my phone to having VoiceOver sound/speech over my Echo just like the rest of the sound.

Any way to fix this issue?

Hi My girlfriend bought herself one of the small jawbone jamboxes so she could lissten to her iDevices via bluetooth. Everything paired really well, and the jambox sounds really nice when playing music on it, but as the subject line says, when VoiceOver speaks, it's really distorted. Keep in mind that we haven't installed any apps on it, in fact I'm not even sure how to do that, so i'll need some explanations as to how to do that. How can we get VoiceOver to stop distorting?

Hello guys.
With iOS 16.1.2, there is a weird issue with VoiceOver navigation sounds.
When I connect my wired Apple earbuds, the navigation sound to the next/previous item is mono, and when I unplug it everything goes back to normal.
Does anyone have the problem?

Hi All and hope someone can help.

I am getting at least half a second latency between my touching my Apple watch series 4 and hearing Voiceover in my Airpods 2nd Gen.

I’m running the latest software for my watch.

I’v left it for a while as I presumed it was just something that was common to us all but, I’v been told subsequently that it shouldn’t be happening.

I’d be really grateful if anyone could tell me if this is a common problem and more importantly, if it isn’t, how I might resolve it.

I've recently bought a set of the new AirPods Pro. After connecting them to my Mac, I routinely find that VoiceOver speech is not being routed to the AirPods. VoiceOver sound effects are, but not speech. In this state, speech is also not being routed through the Mac speakers. To correct this, I have to turn VoiceOver off an then on again. This results in VoiceOver speech being routed to the AirPods.

Is there a setting that I've missed?

Thanks

I’ve got my momentum, true wireless 2.
Voiceover cuts off, specifically the speech.
It does it ever since they received a new update for firmware, and I updated my iOS to 16.
This problem is specific to these headphones, my AirPods do not do it. They are second generation AirPods.
Does anyone know what this may be? It only cuts off the speech and not the voiceover sounds.
Thanks for any help.

I haven’t yet updated to iOS 15 but voiceovers volume fluctuations while using a Bluetooth speaker are driving me mad. I can’t see this mentioned anywhere, has this Ben happening to anyone else that voiceover will suddenly come out extremely loud out of the phone speaker while playing something else through a Bluetooth speaker? It happens a lot particularly while typing for some reason. Interested to know if this was happening to anyone before and if 15 had resolved it,
Thanks

I recently bought a Bluetooth headphone and the voice for VoiceOver doesn't 't come through although my audiobooks play. Is there some kind of setting I need to change? I've looked in the settings for voiceover but didn't see anything there.

I'm using both an iPhone 8 Plus and iPad 6, both running iOS 13.1.2

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
