I wanted the title to be as broad as possible. This may be a thread where everything related to speech synthesizers and TTS, from questions and problems to suggestions and available/newly-released voices/engines, is posted. So I have two questions:
1. I already have eSpeak-NG and RHVoice on my iPhone but can anyone list all the available third-party TTS engines? New ones may be added to this list as they're released. And does anyone know whether DecTalk will be ported to iOS?

I know, this issue affects maybe a very small ammount of folks in the community, but it would be very helpful, if I could get a good advice for our problem.
Well, my first iPhone was the iPhone 4S and since then, i used the enhanced Anna voice under Voiceover which is a German voice.
In the following years, some pronouncing adjustments has been done to improve the pronouncing quality and the voice quality in general. I get very well with the Anna voice and had no issues til IOS 18 was released.

Hello all, hope you're doing well. During a zoom call yesterday I was told that voiceover users can do a 3 finger swipe right or left to mute/unmute their microphone during acall. This gesture seems to work for some but not for all of us. Is this a thing? Does the 3 finger swipe right/left mute or unmute your microphone during a call

In voiceover 2 finger flic left and right are already asigned, I'm not intirelysure what it does though...
Anyway, Is there any way they can be asigned to track navigation in some whay maybe automations or activities?
Most of my earbud have track navigation control, but not in the car and it's annoying to stop the music just so I can swich tracks, It's not as seemless as it could be?

I had a bug when ios 18 first came out where the gesture I used to jump to the status bar weren't working. It seemed to be fixed in ios 18.01, but now that I've updated to ios 18.1, it's back, and work-arounds aren't helping.
I tried restarting my phone, and I tried assigning a different gesture, but no luck.
Anyone else notice this?

Hi All, not sure if anyone has found or posted about this. Since IOS10 it is extremely hard to reply direct to a message notification from the locked screen. Actually it doesn't work. However, I've found a workaround. When you get the notification flick down to more. Double tap. This is where the edit box should come up but doesn't. However, if you use the rotor and go to vertical navigation then flick down a couple of times it takes you into the edit box. Type your message as normal flick right and the send button appears. Well it works for me. hth

am searching for a way to get RSS feed notifications as soon as a new event happened inside this feed.
I tried Lire, but there is no notification inside.
also tried the Net news wire, it says notify about new articles that have been added.
but nothing happened.
Is there away that i can get instant notifications on my Iphone and Mac also?

Hello everyone, forgive me if this is a rather obvious question… But I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you purchase an app and it's not accessible… Or it doesn't work like you thought… there was someway to get your money refunded from Apple. I don't know if this is true so I thought I would throw it out there. Earlier this evening I bought text detective… And maybe I just need to spend some more time with it… But it really isn't working too well.

Hello all. I just recently joined AppleVis because I will soon be getting an iPhone 8, and I may, no, probably will, have a lot of questions once I start using it. I've never really used an iPhone before, except maybe one time when I got to mess around with one for a few minutes just to see if I could type on a touch screen. Other than that, the only Apple product I have is an iPod Shuffle I bought in 2011, with the round ring of buttons.

Hi,
I've heard of people putting their apple music on shuffle. How do I do this? I guess what I'm trying to ask is how do I get apple music to play all music across all genres? I know how to listen to different albums/artists/playlists in Apple Music, but rarely if ever do I listen to just one artist or one genre, I like a nice eclectic music mix. Is there a way to make Apple Music behave like Pandora for the purpose of music discovery?

Hi everyone, I'm currently restoring my iPhone 15 Pro using the Apple Configurator on MacOS. I find the language and setup screen difficult to navigate when it says "Swipe to open." Is there any way to get around this on the iPhone itself? Or is there any way to configure all these settings on Mac OS so I don't have to do it on the iPhone? On the official Twitter app, one can click on a profile, but, there, one can only see selective information, NOT including the user's bio. How does one, using VoiceOver, access bio information on the official Twitter app?
(I've heard from sighted folks that this is accomplished using a swipe to the left, if that is at all helpful.)
