iOS and iPadOS

Post Date:

Hi all,
I’ve just unboxed and set up my new iPad (woohoo!), and am curious to know about the multitasking features unique to the iPad; I’ve been an iPhone user now for 6+ years, and an iPad user for around 4 or 5 years, but I’ve never owned an iPad capable of the multitasking features. I’m aware of slideover, picture-in-picture and split view, but have no idea how they work, or how to activate them using Voiceover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, I am a fairly new iPad user compared to my iPhone, so bear with me. I've turned the multitasking gestures on in Settings, and I like the way you can switch between apps with just a four-finger horizontal swipe and not have to go into the app switcher. However, I am having a problem with the conflicting "move to top/bottom" gesture. So how are you guys resolving this? Do you just not use one set of gestures? I was content to forego my easy top/bottom access in favor of switching apps... until I started using MBraille.

I am having trouble getting Ipad OS keyboard shortcuts to work. I have an IPad Pro 11-inch, 4th gen. My keyboard case is one made by typecase. If I try and access the notification center, by pressing vo+m, then option+up-arrow, the voice-over focus simply stays in the status bar. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a new shortcut for this in Ipad OS? Thanks in advance for the help.

hi all,

am not really sure what this is about.

the other day i had a problem whereby for some reason i couldn't send or receive iMessages from my iPad but it works fine on the iPhone. then all of a sudden i got a ton of notifications through at once and that included iMessages. it was almost as if it bottlenecked or something.

well today the same thing has happened but i haven't had any notifications as of yet to see if the same thing happens.

I recently had a parent of a blind student make this statement to me, and school administrators in a meeting, as she protested IPad training for her son. She was unable to provide me with any support of the statement, other than, "otherAT professionals in Idaho and Washington say so." She refused to provide me with the other AT professionals in the region, so I have been unable to find evidence to support her claim.

I have a question about the settings app on the iPad. On my iPhone, if I, for example, go into settings and then general, the general opens up in its own window. But on the iPad, it opens up but I can still see all of the other settings options on the screen. I'm wondering if this can be disabled, to make the settings look like they do on the iPhone.

Hey guys.
Is anyone using this? Haven't seen anything on here about it and can't get my head around how to use it because i'm 100 years old. Just got a new ipad pro and would love to take advantage of it :).
cheers

Hello everyone,
The subject line says it all here. Is it possible to set up a command that would find the first heading on a page, and at the same time switch to headings in the rotor? I find myself wanting to navigate by heading more often than not, but with so many options in the rotor, it takes me a bit to find that option in the rotor. Either a way to do what I've suggested, or bypass the rotor entirely and just navigate between headings.

Hi all. i'll put this here, because i think this is the right spot. If it isn't i apologize. If someone should choose to move this topic, or wishes i do so please let me know and i'll be happy to do that. I plugged my Ipad two into my Mac, to sync it and also chargeit. When i click on the lock screen, it will only go from the time, to the unlock button. No 67% charging message that my iPhone four has. Anyone know what's going on? Latest updates to the upad, so I don't know myself or unless I've just not realized this happens?

I am trying to assist one of my learners who is using an iPad with keyboard and Voiceover. She has updated to iOS 13.4 and is now experiencing problems with her Mail app. When opening an Email, every now and again, it brings up a context menu with the options to reply, reply all, forward etc. This is really causing her a problem because most of the time she only wants to read the message. I've gone into Accessibility, Touch, and turned off 3D and Haptic touch but this doesn't seem to work in the Mail app.

Then the older sounds My only concern is that one of the sounds kind of sounds like one the sounds on the Google pixel phone I will update this post as I find more information, And find my only features changes and improvements

hi all
I am having issue with my iPad running the latest iPadOS.
The issue is an annoying lag when content in other languages is detected. I enable auto language switching and I have both English and Arabic as TTS.
I tried several combination of TTSs but it seems the lag does exist no matter what TTS is used.
So now when reading through Facebook posts where names are in one language and the post content in another language, I am getting a very annoying lag. It is to the extent it is even boring to use or read with multilingual content.

The settings app on iPadOS has been misbehaving for two years and Apple support seems disinterested in trying to fix it. They've blamed my device even though the same problem has happened with four different devices. Then they blamed my install even though several full restores hasn't fixed it. I even set it up as a new device and still have the same problem.

I recently bought myself an iPad 9th Generation, and have been hearing off/on how the sighted take advantage of the Split-screen view. So I've been wondering if this is accessible for us VoiceOver users? And if so, what gesture is there to quickly switch between the default "Full-screen View" to the "Split Screen"? Thanks in advance for tiss on this matter.

I have an iPhone 10 question
With my iPhone 7 I would periodically clear the ram/memory from the main screen I would hold the power button till the shutdown screen appeared then hold the home Butten till it made a noise and returned the focus to the main screen of apps. I haven’t been able to figure out how to do this with my iPhone 10. Does anyone have experience with this?

I am using an iPhone 11. I make sure that the race to speak is switched off, but when the phone is locked and I just touch the screen with one finger it speaks. Is there someway of stopping this, and where?

So I'm getting a 12 mini tomorrow, and it dawned on me, I have no idea how to operate the new phones without a home button. Like how does one turn voice over on straight out of the box and so forth.
Might someone point me in the right direction to an article or guide on how the phones work with voiceover without the home button and with face recognition?
I'm familiar with the iOS system, but my basic understanding is haptics are used to replace the home button, but coming from an iPhone 7I have no clue how that works.
Any help greatly appreciated.
