Dear All, Is it possible to change the voice that is used to read books in the ReadToGo app? I live in the UK and would sometimes prefer an English sounding voice, especially when reading non-fiction books. I prefer the standard USA voices on fiction books that are based in the States (just like the RNIB DAISY audio books that are availible in the UK from authors like Lee Child, Jeffrey Deaver and Tom Clancy) but when I'm reading academic books and ones of a non-fiction nature, I'd like to use the British English standard voice.

Hi, I backed up my iPhone 4, and followed apple directions, but when it was all done, I had the Read2go app on my new 5c, but no books. I think Apple ate my library ! :( Anybody have any idea what I did wrong? If I have to download the whole shebang again, tell me quick so I will be done weeping and gnashing my teeth before Sunday! Thanks, Sheri

Since I couldn’t find answers to many of my own questions before purchasing Read2Go, I decided to post my impressions and observations here in case others want to go the same route. If or when I get my hands on InDaisy, I’ll do the same. For the record, this is with Read2Go V1.0.2.2, released on January 21st 2012, and iPhone 4S using iOS 5.01. 1. Unlike what many people think, Read2Go indeed supports the dictionary built into iOS5 if VoiceOver is used to read books instead of the built-in TTS engine.

Hi all, This is primarily aimed at Read2Go developers and staff as I haven’t yet been able to find their technical support email address or online form. Of course they have a feedback and voting form, but I’m not sure if bugs and problems can go there. Anyway, I just noticed that Read2Go fails to open DAISY 3.0 textbooks the Kurzweil 1000 generates. They appear in the Bookshelf, their initial book info is displayed properly, but Read2Go suddenly closes as soon as the Read button is selected.

Hi all,
when I'm scrolling through the messages in a longer conversation I'm facing several problems. First, the flicking down with three fingers gesture is not usable. VO always acts like it reaches the beginning of the conversation and I have to flick to the left with one finger to get to the older messages. When I want to play an old audio message, instead of playing it VO often jumps back down to the end of the list where the newer messages can be found. I'm working with the iOS 12.2.

Hey everybody. I am curious about something. Is it possible to read the numbers on a normal household scale with your phone without having to buy a smart scale or one that talks? And just to clarify, I’m talking about one of those scales that you step on. I talked to my mom about possibly getting one of those talking scales but she said she doesn't want one that spills out her wait to everyone in the vicinity.

Hi. I have to write a research paper for school, and one of the books I found online seem really good but it's in an inaccessible PDF format. My friend Nate gave it to me in a Word document for my PC, but when he OCRed the file it messed up the page numbering. I have the KNFBREADER on my phone but have never used it for this purpose. I would appreciate instructions for this way or any recommendations for anything else that might make more sense. I apologize for making this post really long. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, How to you read a text message while on a phone call. Here's my example: I'm on a call and they send a verification code. How do you get to the text and then back to the call with VO? Thanks.

Hi all,

So in search for reading app for iPad. The problem with Voice Dream Reader and Speech Central is that they either make the whole page in one paragraph or the whole paragraph in one line. So if you need a specific information in one line you have either to read the whole paragraph or page instead of simply reading the line where the piece of information is. Well, EasyReader splits paragraph into lines and they are quite good, still EasyReader always needs internet connection which I do not have all the time particularly when I am traveling abroad.

Hello all,
is there an APP to read common appliance displays, such as microwaves, ovens etc?
Thanks,

Hello,
Pretty self-explanatory, is there a way to read Armenian on the iPhone? I need to be able to.

Dear all, I've just purchased the Voice Reader app, just to try to get other text to speech voices to read books. In the settings of the voice reader app are a variety of English speaking voices, which are not bad. However, I don't want to use what I regard to be gimmicks for reading messages I could write into the space provided or save the result. What I really want is to have a couple of alternatives to read the books in I Books and Overdrive, which will give the Voice Over English voice a rest from time to time.

Hi.
I was wondering how to read books from the Read2Go app on an iOS device? Particularly a Braille note apex. Thank you.

Post Date:

First off, let me start by saying sorry if this has been posted here before. My brailleaense is getting harder to us with the braille display of the unit seeming to get worse every time I try to turn it on. I used the braillesense for everything, from writing documents, to reading books. And while I've found a solution to writing documents using my IPad, but I haven't been able to find a solution that will let me read books from bookshare. I've tried voice dream reader, but I don't like to have the book read out all in one chunk.

is there a way to read BRF/braille files on iOS without having to use a braille display? I know there used to be an app, but I think it's gone.

I cannot find an App that I can use to store non important passwords that will read capital letters when re-reading a password. I have tried Notes, Pages and Access Note. What I mean is if I save a password into text it says which letter is a capital one. If I re-read this password at a later date it does not read the capital letter as such. Does anyone know of an App that will do this?
