An updated version of the Chess-wise app has just been released that offers significantly improved accessibility for VoiceOver users.
The developer of this app has worked closely with a number of blind iDevice users, and early reports from the VIPhone mailing list indicate that this new version of the chess game is very accessible.
In reply to a question from us on Twitter, it’s been confirmed that active development will cease on all of the current audio games from Somethin’ Else and not just Papa Sangre.

Papa Sangre II, the wildly popular audio game, will be free to download in the app store for one day on Thursday, March 27, 2014 local time.
Somethin Else, the developers behind Papa Sangre II and The Nightjar, recently announced that last week, Papa Sangre II won the “Excellence in Sound Design” award at the 2014 International Mobile Gaming Awards. Papa Sangre II was also rated the #1 iOS game of 2013 by MetaCritic.

Update 10 February: We have now received clarification from Candywriter regarding their recent takedown notice for our App Directory entries for the BitLife games. We have been informed that the issue was caused by a wrongful flagging of AppleVis as an "APK website."
For those unfamiliar with the term, an APK website refers to a website that stores Android app files.
We are grateful to Candywriter for rectifying this mistake and for their prompt resolution of the matter.
