Apple Hardware and Compatible Accessories

Hi all, Here is what I hope will be the final installment of my iRig Keys saga, and that everything will be working as it should within the next few days, as i've only got a few more days to return the unit if it doesn't work. The ThumbJam developer give me the step by step instructions to set up the iRig Keys: Go to Prefs/Midi Control/Midi Input Connections, but when my dad went there, ThumbJam wouldn't recognize my iRig Keys. The blue light that the manual said was supposed to turn on won't turn on at all.

Note.
I don’t know where to put the since this relates to both the ice pad and the MacBook/Mac desktop, so I have put it in other apple chat section.
What is Apple Silicon?
Apple Silicon, is a process of made by Apple Inc, a technology company that was made originally in the mid 1970s. The CEO was, none other than the legends of Steve Jobs. However, unfortunately in 2011, he unfortunately passed away.
Tim Cook, then took the reins of, Apple Inc, and made it better, for some people at least.

Various posts on this community seem to disparage the macBook air, partly because it hasn't been refreshed and seems ready for the chopping block and partly because it's just the cheaper one. However, I still think it's a good choice for those seeking a mac laptop, especially given the recent changes in the product line.

Hi.
I'm not sure if this topic should be in the hardware forum instead.
It's about the time where I need to think about getting a new Macbook. I'm not sure on what to get and what would fit my needs.
I bought my current Macbook Air 11 inch in 2014. At this time, this lovely small computer was ment to only work as a travel computer on the go. For a lot of reasons, the computer quickly end up being my primary computer, which still surprise me today. I bought a computer with only 128 gb of storage but upgraded it to 8 gb of ram.

Hi all,
I am looking to buy a foldable bluetooth keyboard. My preferences would be a good quality bluetooth keyboard that is compatible with all OS's (Windows, oSX, iOS, Android etc), it should have a decent battery life and it should be compact enough of a pocket size. I do not like silicon ones, plastic or aluminium-coated is ok.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I noticed that LS&S group is now selling the Orbit Bluetooth trackers. These are small and designed to help you locate a lost item. They have trackers that attach to a keychain, some which stick on to surfaces, and one which is a complete leather wallet. The website for the manufacturer is here:
https://findorbit.com/orbit_us/
but there are also competitors.

Almost a year into using the headphones that came with my iPhone 5S. Initially I started facing some strange issues with the sound volume on them. For example if I received a message on the what app. the volume would be suddenly turned up to full. Sometimes the music volume although turned up to 100% sounds like the music is coming from under a matress. Turning VoiceOver and restarting it sometimes fixes this.

Hi all,

I'm not planning to throw my iPhone around too much, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets an occasional bump or knock (most likely several!). So, I am thinking I should get a case thqt offers a fair amount of protection.

I am currently thinking about either an Otterbox Defender or an Otterbox Commuter. Has anybody got one of these cases? Are they as good as people claim? Do they still fit easily into a pocket, or do these cases make them too bulky?

Thanks

Ian

I have a question. On the Otterbox Defender, if you pull the parts that protect elements like the port that you use to plug the charger into the wall, will the rubber protection tear off? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I just got an Otterbox Defender case for my 2nd generation iPhone SE. I really love the protection it gives the phone, but there's one feature I can't figure out how to use. The case comes with the holster with belt clip, and they talk about how you can somehow extend the belt clip in order to turn it into a kick stand so you can put the phone down, say, while you're on a call. I get how the clip rotates to different positions, but what i do not get is how you extend the clip. They show you how to do it in numerous videos, but that's not helping me.

Hi, I recently got the Otterbox Defender case for an iPhone 5 device. I was able to snap the hard plastic shell around the device without any hitches, but removing it seems to be an issue. I can remove the hard rubber part just fine, but can't figure out how to remove the plastic protector without potentially cracking it. Any pointers in the right direction would be nice. Thanks

I understand that these cases are difficult to install and remove even for sighted people.

So, are there any recommendations/accessible tutorials about how to go about putting the case on and taking it off your phone independently?

Hey guys,

So, I've got an iPhone 13 Pro Max Sierra Blue from AT&T, and just ordered the Shadow Black Otterbox Folio case. By the looks of things, and from what Aira tells me, it looks like it will be really incredibly nice. I do have a magsafe case made by Apple, (one of their official magsafe cases) as from what I'm understanding, the way these folio cases work, you put your phone inside a magsafe case, like this, or one of the Otterbox symmetry cases, and then, that will then magnitize on to the actual right inside of the folio case itself.

Before switching from PC to Mac, I used to share files between my PC and PacMate via USB ports. I plugged my PacMate into my Mac mini the other day and I did not find anything on the screen that indicated to me they could communicate with each other. I subsequently concluded this must be due to the fact that PacMate uses a Windows based OS. Am I correct in this conclusion and is there a way to get these two devices to share files? Thanks much.

Hi All,

I have a new iPhone 7 and I can't remember how to pair my Logitech H800 headphones, can somebody help? When I bought them I paired them with the 5s that I had at the time but I don't remember what I did.

My primary computer is a Dell 14z, running Win 7. Being that I have RP, I heavily utilize ZoomText 10.1 on this platform. My secondary PC is a Dell desktop mini-tower. It is an i5 with 8 GB RAM, 1.5 TB of HD space, running Win 10. I've installed ZT 10.1 on that machine as well. I had full intentions of migrating to the desktop and use the laptop on an as needed basis. That was a mistake.

So, you have this pen-friend device, costing extra, whereas your IPhone comes with builtin NFC reader.
I am surprised someone hasn't already created an app to completely replace Pen-friend with off the shelf NFC stickers costing literally nothing on Amazon and an IOS app.
Here's what the app can do: read the NFC tag, offer a dialog box after recognition, if there's a saved announcement/recording associated with whatever the tag already has, speak it out, with either TTs or play the audio recording.

I have an IPhone SE running the latest update. I've noticed not all the time but sometimes my phone will feel warm after a full charge. Is this normal or is my charger going bad? I use a regular lightening cord to charge and my battery health is at 97 percent.
Thanks
