iOS and iPadOS

Hi all,
So, very recently, I noticed that when I asked Siri to search something up on Wikipedia, it would read normally, until when it asks whether I want it to continue. But then when I said yes, Siri just responded with something like 'that's what I thought', instead of continuing to read the Wikipedia article.

On My Iphone SE with IOS 11.2.5., I am asking siri to open settings for background app refresh. Siri confirms, but it instead opens notification settings. Have anyone experienced this odd behaviour? Interestingly couldn't find anything of this sort on other forums.

Hi Folks,

My name is Paul Ruvolo and I'm a professor of computer science at a small engineering college in the US. Over the last several years, I've been working alongside students and folks from the blind and VI communities to develop iOS apps for indoor mobility. This work has resulted in two publicly available apps (Clew an app for indoor route recording and Clew Maps an app for route sharing) and several more apps that are still in development.

Hi All, Just wanted to get your thoughts on what would be the best app to take pics with on the iPhone, the camera app, or any third party apps? I downloaded the Instagram app, which when you take a pic, gives you an option to write a caption, to I guess, indicate if a blind person was looking at a pic on Facebook, what the pic was. I also downloaded the Guided Photo Pro app, which gives spoken directions on where to point the camera while trying to take the picture.

Hello everyone!

I wanted to give you a bit of an update, as we know we have been quiet for the past couple months. That's because we have been really hard at work developing new content, an update for our mobile app, our brand new web app, and our new content creators program! We are especially excited for our content creator program, as it will allow us to accept outside contributions from creators and educate new ones from all over the world!

Hi, has anyone ever heard of the anchor app? Is it just not accessible, or is there something I'm missing? You seem to have to turn VO off to "swipe up", and it uses swipes for controlling the app so I can't find anything on the screen. thanks!

Hi! So I've been using Seeing AI for over a year now, but can never get the camera to angle right and it ends up taking forever. This is leading me to consider smart glasses with a wider field of view even though I know they are expensive.

So, has anyone been able to read something with an OCR app on the first or second try? If so, what is your secret? :)

Hello,
Does anyone know of an app which will allow me to annotate or comment PDF files on an iOS device? Many thanks.

some websites use colors to indicate whether the current number change to a greater value. for example, one checked the value 10 minutes ago and the value was 99.63, check again now and the number is 99.55. the 99.55 is in red, and there is also a 0.08 in red indicates the value has decreased. there is no minus sign before the 0.08, so the only way to tell whether is's > or < is by its color.

I've turned on my 4th Gen Touch today to discover that it has changed the way in which time is being announced. It previously would have said its 8:07pm, a setting I liked, to now saying 0807, a setting I don't like!

I've checked in Date and Time, 24 hour is not selected.

Has anyone any ideas how I could put this right, or why it may have simply changed of its own volition?

We've today announced that we've added Voiceover support to Wotja A for macOS; available now from the Mac App Store. We've just announced that in the macOS forum on AppleVis.

However, we suspect that only a few of you will know that we have supported Voiceover in the iOS version of Wotja A for quite some time now, and for those of you who didn't already know, we though we should let you know, and encourage you to find out more.

Last month, I posted announcing 2cBoard version 1.0. 2cBoard is a large-key keyboard that is designed for the visually impaired.
I received several comments asking for improvements, and I thank you for the comments.
Rami and I have worked on the app and today we are releasing version 1.1 that addresses some of your comments.
Here are the improvements:
We have improved the contrast by default in the white and black color schemes.

Hi,
My nephew has an Android phone that announces incoming texts when he receives them, then asks if he wants to reply. I just purchased an iPhone SE for my blind brother to use with VoiceOver. Is there some way to set up this feature on the phone for him?

My Blue Badge Parking app uses a database of parking locations by kind permission of Dan Gibson at “BlueBadgeParking.com”. After the initial launch of app, if you don’t have cellular connection it uses the last version saved. When launched, app looks for nearest spaces to your location based on the Search Radius selected in ‘Settings’ (default 3 miles / 4.5kms). There are 5 tabs :- Map, List, Notify, Help and Settings the map being the most useful to see where the pins are and the List tab places them in order with the nearest to where you are at the top.
