For the past couple of years my go to headphones when out walking have been AfterShokz Arropex. These are now getting a little tired. I'm also finding myself increasingly frustrated by their poor call quality and some of the other limitations of bone conduction.

This has me in the market for earbuds which offer the best level of ambient awareness.

I recently tried the new Sony LinkBuds for a couple of days, and unfortunately the silicon wings that hold them in place aren't a comfortable fit for my ears.

I know the answer will be rather subjective, but, what's the best external battery for iOS? I'm not looking for a case, I'm either looking for a power station, or an external battery that you plug into the phone, (please recommend batteries for the 5 or newer for that one option please.) Thanks for any info anyone can have on this matter!

Hello.
I'm looking for a good hardshell case for the MacBook Pro 14 inches released October 2021.
I want something that is molded to the MacBook, so it'll properly protect it as well as give me access to the ports.
I currently use a tech Evo MacBook Air case that has 2 pieces of plastic, one that goes on top of the screen and one that goes on the bottom, both of them snap in place to create a protective layer that reaches around the top, sides and back of the mac.

My poor iPhone 8 Plus is about to die, so I need to upgrade, but I’m not sure which iPhone is the best for a totally blind person. I’m not interested in the iPhone SE. I would like an iPhone that has decent speakers and a decent camera for those times when I need to ask for help through an app or for when I do decide to learn how to take pictures or video. I want the iPhone to be the newest model possible so that I don’t have to upgrade again anytime soon. I am totally blind, although I am very familiar with voiceover.

This hasn't been asked since 2021, so I figured that I would put this up. The time has come to say goodbye to my loyal iphone 8 and upgrade. But there's been so many versions to come out since then that I'm not sure which to get. Do I go for the latest and greatest, or a slightly older version?

To clarify, while I am upgrading from the iphone 8, I do have a recent ipad and so I am used to not having a home button.

Hi all, I'm a developer and business analyst on a project building an intake check-in kiosk at homeless shelters in a major city. We are building the check-in app in iOS for iPads and plan to use a tabletop kiosk. Along with that, we need to find a keyboard that is both accessible and usable with iOS. Do you have any recommendations? We probably need to use a USB keyboard, to ensure a continuous connection.

For context, this is the link to the table top kiosk we will be using:

Dear readers, I am a student in Product Design in The Netherlands. At this moment I am researching mobile communication needs for blind and visually impaired for my university. I am already surprised by what I have read the last days. People using Twitter and Facebook. I am wondering what apps you use and social networks. I also wonder what hardware you prefer. Is the Ipad really a miracle for blind and visually impaired people? Thanks for helping me.

Hello Apple Vis,
I'm in the market for a new home router, and wondered what you guys recommend for a router that has an accessible companion app?
I've used the NetGear router, and even when I try and use it with my Netgear account it keeps giving me issues. However, I will say they've made some progress on their companion app.
I"m looking for something better.
Let me know what you guys recommend.
Chuck

Hello All:

So it's that time again. The time that I'm forced to upgrade. Whenever I get a new phone, I like to immediately put it in a case. With the 12 pro max I'll be giving up, I went with the Temdan case, and had reasonably good results. My only complaint was being able to be heard when NOT on speaker. Sometimes it was fine, other times not so fine.

Hi,
I was wondering what is the best way to prepair an IPhone for sale? I know first doing a factory reset, but as far as it being on a specific carier do I need to remove the sim card as well?
Thanks

Hi, For totally blind users, is it practical to use only the touch screen on an iPad for typing? I tried typing briefly on an iPad resting my fingers on the screen as if I had a keyboard, but I found it difficult. As I said, it was a brief experience. If this is not practical, what is the best keyboard for an iPad used in Australia? I suspect there might be different keyboards in different countries so that is why I mentioned where I would want to use it. Thanks.

Hi.
I've bought a sony wh xm3 headset, but I have problems.
Sometimes voice over works, sometimes it doesn't.
When I want to type an sms it takes very long time for voice over to talk, Almost a second.
When I play games or browse menus it goes fine.
Is there any better headset. I can't have it like this.

Bought an Macbook Pro 15 inch 2017 with touchbar and its new 2nd generation butterfly keyboard. Unless you're planning to use an external keyboard I'd like to warn you about these new keyboards. The tiniest amount of dust or dirt can create some serious issues like keys not working or doubble or triple letters. This is a known issue, but sadly I didn't know that when I bought my first mac.

I've been using the Meta Ray-Bans for about three months now. There have been improvements in what they are able to do for blind users. Recently I was able to use them to pick something off of a menu at a restaurant. I did confirm with a sighted friend to make sure, but it was correct.

Hello everyone I have a problem. I am having a hard time finding a scanner that is easy to use with jaws to read my printed documents. I intend in the future to switch from windows to a mac but I need a scanner that will work with both types of computers.
A lot of scanners that I have researched only work with one or the other so I was wondering if there could possibly be a scanner that can work with both. When I eventually do find a scanner can I use jaws or vo to make the scanner talk and how. What is the software that comes with the scanner for?
